Nice run up the coast. My longest drive was Ottawa > Calgary non-stop back in the day when heading out West for school. 41 hours in my 1991 Civic Si without cruise control. I had a cramp in my foot for a week after that. From Calgary we did a little jaunt over to Vancouver then down to Tijuana and back before school started. And that was back in the day before GPS, just a paper map book and a Triptik from CAA. I think I put around 9,000 km on my car in under 3 weeks. Good times!

I have done that same LA to Portland non stop many many times and just that far is a killer drive. So many times in fact, that i recognize the road clips you showed..even th Wa. parts....and yes the best time to get through Portland is 3:30 am lol.

Ha! I just did the same thing. Drive 7.5 hours to buy a specialty truck...wound up misrepresented by owner. Got back in the car and drove straight home 7.5 more. Gotta love the car game

That's a nice radar detector. I've done those crazy 1,000 mile straight through drives several times, they really just aren't worth it. At least in a regular car or SUV you can take a halfway decent nap, not with that thing though. LOL. I drove from Michigan to South Florida straight one time, that was hell.

You need a dector with a readout that tells you a frequency . Today's cars with active cruise uses a KA band that's 35.5 & up, below it's the law. But without the ability for seeing the frequency triggering the dector you'll be slowing down for GM & Volvo's your entire trip.
