We headed down to run Doddington Hall parkrun to complete our tour of Lincoln's parkruns having run Yarborough Leisure Centre and Lincoln previously. This was such a fun trip with friends. In addition to the great company on the way there and back then the team here added ALL of the fun... See the giant traffic cone for evidence of this!
This parkrun has so many parkrun extras. The permanent finish funnel is amazing, as are the milestone boards, the finish token box, the TWO cafes, not to mention the beautiful grounds to walk. It's worth checking out if there are any events on at Doddington Hall itself as you could combine your parkrun trip for an ultimate tourist experience!
We had so much fun here, I can't thank Shane and his team enough. I highly recommend a visit to this awesome parkrun!

So excited seeing you at Doddington Hall. I've run it twice and when the runners start coming towards me I would always say encouraging words to them. This was because I saw you doing it on this KZbin channel (at other locations). I thought that it probably didn't help and may even have been seen as condescending. But one runner did come over to me afterwards and thank me for the support. So I pass that thanks to you Nicola for being a beacon of positivity that showed me the way. Plus the token postbox briefcase is my favourite thing about Doddington Hall, so pleased it featured 😁

Sunil 🤗 This is such a lovely comment, thank you so much, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy. And I quite agree that the token postbox is amazing... I feel like we should paint it red with a parkrun insignia on it! 🥰🤣

Keep left at all times, so everyone runs where they like😂 I was confused yesterday at Penistone, as had to run on the right for the first time😂

Lol... Once people started coming back people kept left! Good point about Penistone! I'd not thought about that. I love that kind of springy surface 😃

What a cool and well organized run. Pretty simple course from the looks of it. Definitely looked like a cool place to spend some time after the race as well. Gotta say, you got some amazing race photos. Mine have been getting better of late, but more often than not I look like a mess, especially if I am unaware they are there. As usual, thanks for taking me along on your running journeys... Always brightens my mood when I watch.

I'm not joking I fully expected these photos to be terrible... I mean on my behalf, not the photographers! I felt like I timed it all wrong 🤣 so hooray for the nice surprise! 😃 Thanks for the lovely comment and remember... Always look for the race photographers 😉

@@andreasgotz7537 it's been -17 °C in Leeds before but that is VERY rare! In the winter it being below freezing is pretty common though 🙃 It was last night 🥶

I think it's well up there on the new list of the fastest park runs, out and backs on an old railway are usually quite quick. I did Yarborough in the autumn so this one is the next on my list when in the area again. I'll go when the hall is open as my plan for this year with the further afield ones is to do something touristy while we're there.

It's definitely quick, I've posted my top 4 quickest times there. If you're going for a quick time, take advantage of the first mile, but don't go completely mad😅😅
@NicolaRuns
@NicolaRuns 3 күн бұрын
Yup it's flat and fast despite what the locals say 😜🤣 The first bit is exposed though so save something for the last mile as a slight gradient plus a headwind is tricky! 🏃‍♀️
@garthcox4307
@garthcox4307 3 күн бұрын
@NicolaRuns yep I think it's the start and end that isn't on the old railway. Isabel trail in Stafford is a very good old railway out and back if you've never done it.

At a parkrun mine is 23:00 but I've run faster in a race. Mine was at Norwich parkrun which isn't a fast course but it is pancake flat ☺️ It rained and was miserable when we were at Selby!
