I bought a 1000W Grid Tie MicroInverter just like the one you have and it started to malfunction after just a few months. So now I am in process of trying to get another one from manufacturer. The cooling fans on my unit seemed to be not working right . So with that being said, save your receipts and make sure you have some sort of warranty when you buy these things.

Typical "warranty" for Chinesium. Too bad ...

Hi I live in P.R. I have one of this (1000watts inverter) but I have a problem .say overload when I conect the grid inverter to the 120 vac line. Why is not working?

Hi do you think i can test the gti without connecting it to the grid..i just want to check if it will convert the dc to ac from solar pv and the value after conversion. Some videos are saying the gti will not function if i dont connect it to the grid..
@glasserallen7 жыл бұрын
Great video, instead of plugging the 3 prong cord to run house, can you plug that into an extension cord, & run electric device's? Tks.
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
da man No it needs to sense power from the grid to run.

what does actually happen to your bill if you consume less then then the PV on the grid generates when you have a smart DU meter? would be charged for that extra units you have generated, when you have a SMART AC DIGITAL meter (DU). would you been charged for the exported units?

Hello, You've show me the video that I'm looking for, It's a great video, I was wondering if you can help me, I have 1000w micro inverter same like yours, I was wondering how many panels should I used for this setup?, I have 10pcs of 100w mono solar panels. Thank you.
@arkatub6 жыл бұрын
I think you can hook them all up just not in series, you need to supply the correct voltage to the inverter, the device itself determines the amperage. You should double check what I said, I'm not an expert. (the 1000W is the inverter's output, not it's input)
@roylucman22186 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that info.

Great video, any idea why my exact same model is not working with my WindyNation 100 Watt Solar Panels I tried one panel no dice I tried 2 as parallel then as serial no dice, I also tried what you did but with only one 12 volt battery the green light does not stay on and sometimes I get the red light sometimes not, the back of my inverted says it should operate on 10.8 to 30 VDC
@heroesandzeros780210 ай бұрын
Wire your panels in series/parallel, 2 panels in series for 24V and every set of two panels in parallel. 10 panels would be 5 sets of 2. You would need 2 batteries wired in series for 24V also, or multiple sets of 2 in parallel. Make sure all components are meant for 24V. You can still get 12V from wiring across one battery to set up control relays, etc. Set up Alexa Smart Plugs for voice control and programming of GTIs.

I connected to the link provided above "Showing How the solar grid tie inverter works". there is nothing when you get there to show you how they work. this link is only a link to his Ebay sales site. I don't mind advertising, but really be honest on what you are doing. Don't send some one to a link thinking they will learn something and you are only trying to sell something.

I chanced upon this video after my gti blew up. I connected it to the 230v mains without solar panels as I wanted to test if the unit is working. why will that cause it to blow? confused.
@pepperf977 жыл бұрын
pretty sure its the same v and frequency as the mains.

One thing that the man doing the video demo did not state or show is did he turn off all lights and devices in his home before doing the demo? I bought four solar grid tie inverters and hooked the outputs of them to a power strip hooked to my grid outlet. I have one of them hooked to a Kill a watt meter and they do in fact produce power back into the grid. However, I do not notice any change to my electric bill, nor do I see my Analog meter slow or run backwards.
@bigdog79146 жыл бұрын
Did your use less electricity?
@joetheragman4266 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. this is a complicated issue. I have all four Grid Tie Inverters plugged into a Power Strip.One of them is for a Wind Generator. Instead I have a TriStar 60 charge controller charging two batteries in a 24 volt configuration. I then hooked the Wind Inverter to the batteries. That allows me to put power back into the grid power strip 24/7. I have had my wife call me and switch the power strip off while I am watching the Electric Meter. I had the Solar Analog Meter in place at the time. I did not see any change in the meter.This may be due to the fact that I already had 29 solar panels hooked up in the Net Metering configuration. That may be why it is difficult to notice any change in my electric meter. Also to further complicate the issue, the Power Company stopped reading my old Analog meter in October 31, 2018, and I began getting large electric bills. So I had them install the Smart Meter, and immediately saw my meter running backwards all day long. After UCAN contacted the electric company SDGE, I started AGAIN to get zero charges on my bills for the last two months. They are now analyzing the whole last years bills to work out how much Credits they will give me. That's all for now. I will post a video update soon showing my two solar array's and my grid tie inverters and my batter bench.

in north america do u need a permit for those small tiny amazon inverters? 1000 w? called my power company they didnt know or care
@PaulHenreid Жыл бұрын
Show it actually run the meter backwards because some digital meters show the arrow in the opposite direction indicating the PV panels are supplying electricity to the grid, but the meters do not always run backwards in the absence of a net meter interconnection agreement.

Is the Battery connected DIRECTLY to the Inverter? Or do have a CC CV in between the battery and GTI?
@heroesandzeros780210 ай бұрын
The Charge Controller and the GTI is connected straight to the battery. During the day with full sunlight, the CC will produce most of the power to the GTI. Anything more than the GTI requires charges the battery. These are only good for about 4 hours per day and then you deplete your battery. I use the Alexa Smart Plugs to turn the GTIs on/off at programmed times, on at 12PM and off at 5PM. The CC charges the batteries as much as possible from sunrise till noon and from 5PM till sunset. On cloudy days, the batteries will not be fully charged and the GTIs will not be completely furnished with power, you will be running mostly on battery until depleted. You are better off turning off the GTI on cloudy days and just let the batteries charge.

Do you think that it works in RV where there is no power .i just conect the same inverter into a two solar panel
@TomLouwell4 жыл бұрын
You need off-grid inverter not Grid-tie inverter. You need battery for off grid inverter and make sure its pure sine wave.

When you push power to the mains, do you get paid for it? Eevn if you don't get paid for it , it the bill gets reduced by that amount
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
Tanbirul Quadir Choudhury you have to have it set up with power company to get paid but if you have an analog meter it will actually reduce the usage... The Digital will not reduce the number.
@stevencartlidge65746 жыл бұрын
I used the same inverter at my home. But when I got my first months bill after setup. it was much higher then normal. so I went through the house unplugged and disconnected every thing in my house. I watched my meter go backwards. I let the system run for a couple of hours inputting 800watts. even though the meter ran backwards the numbers went UP instead of down. so I was being "charged" for the power I was making.

Kiim Stavrum yes. This only works with a bi directional. Would have been helpful to have that part explained our at least your question answered...

Few things to consider in this demo: 1. He doing the DEMO with a Positive Power Source. 2. Even with 400W of Solar on the roof, you'll lose 15-25%. 3. Who cares if the Meter runs backwards??????? If you SUPPLEMENT your actually not PAYING for some of your ELECTRIC. Use a Kill-a-watt meter calculate your BARE BONES Electrical Requirements.... Frige, Freezer, Life Support Equipment for granny, etc., say you come up with 1300 watts, just subtract what ever you Tie- in is producing and that's the Electric your NOT PAYING FOR ! Supplement is the KEY, NOT BUILDING YOUR OWN PROWER COMPANY ! That's a sales tactic ! Other systems are OFF GRID, which is very productive and there when you NEED IT THE MOST ! Grind goes down, so does your Grid Tie-in,,,,,,,, the METER want be RUNNING at ALL ! YOU LOSE !
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
BWWGL9 Did you watch any of the video before your panties got twisted or did you just read the title and throw on the CAPS LOCK!? The meter switching was an indication of all of the houses power usage being supplimented, and it was explained clearly in the video that when grid goes down the unit shuts off... The first 10 seconds of the video explained that it was just a test to see how it worked... Not sure why that hurt your feelings.
@sunnynguyenusa7 жыл бұрын
Do you need to call eclectic company to change your meters or just plug grid tie in and its work
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
son nguyen this just op plugs in.

The meter number did not go backward as advertised! Most dumb digital meters just refuse to go backward. They were create to stop people sending the old analogue disk meter backwards.

Why didn't you let the meter go back a number? That is what people want to see!

can i hook up a wind turbine to the inverter
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
Q Wilson Yes they make a version specifically for wind. it has 3 AC input terminals vs 2 DC.
@qwilsontheamericansoldier22577 жыл бұрын
ok so i get a wind turbine hook it up to the inverter then plig into wall
@BlaserBuilds7 жыл бұрын
Q Wilson Yes... They usually need a dump load or some type of charge controlling since the faster they spin the higher they charge... Link in the description should take you to some inverters, just find the one you need.

Lets look at some facts. Most homes consume up to 17 amps continuously because of refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, air conditioners, etc. That does not include any 240V appliances like clothes dryers, ranges, and water heaters. This 1000W Grid Tie Inverter will produce only 6A max for a short time. Unless you are using this in a vacant house, you will never run the meter backwards. And you would have to have a special meter installed to do that. Even if it did run backwards, Utility companies steal every watt you produce. You simply will never make money off of solar this way. It will however reduce your bill as far as usage goes. Unless you have a battery bank of 18 batteries and a solar array of 5KWh, you won't be able to run this 24/7/365. You will be lucky to run it for 4 hours per day. The utility company always charges separately for delivery and other things. Don't be confused or lied to about what this can do, It don't. You are better off setting up smaller arrays with 750W inverters to run individual freezers and refrigerators, this way you will partially reduce your bill. But, considering they can contain thousands of dollars worth of food, you will want to also set up an automatic relay to return them to the grid if the solar/battery fails. Even this type of arrangement is only good for about 4 hours per day which is 1/6th of the bill for that appliance.

always the same-the electric meter did not go backwards-it just stand still

Unfortunately this inverters will burn about 3 or 4 months maybe 6 months! Over heating problem! To avoid danage you must modified cooling fanction!This inverters start cooling by fans over +60-70 celsius! That inverters need install thermostat switch N.O. 40 celius stick on transformer+ dc-dc stepdown board 40V connected to fans,fans will start cooling from 40 celsius and you will avoid the overheating damage.I am technitian.

You forgot to explain your Meter which is the Net Meter type. This won't work for meters which are of the "traditional" one direction type in which case you pay for the power generated by your panels. Talk about getting screwed twice! 😒

The output Power Cord is against the Law, because it's a male plug extremely dangerous it should of been a female output. Can see that the Manufacturer are not qualified.

No, it has an anti islanding protection so it will never turn on without a grid.
