Running my FIRST ultra marathon | Glasgow 2 Edinburgh Ultra

In this latest Outside & Active adventure, Dom takes on his very first ultra marathon - the Glasgow 2 Edinburgh 56 mile ultra.
The event is organised by GB Ultras, who specialise in supported events covering 50, 100 & 215 Mile Ultra Marathons.

Great video. I'm running it this year. I feel like it may be similar to London to Brighton ultra but without overnight camping. Feel like I can smash this in a day 💪💪

Hi mate , great vlog, i like you have only done marathon distance and was looking to sign up to 2025 one but some concerns over navigation , are these well marked out and what was your method of navigation?

Thank you! 2 questions: 1, what kind of shoe did you are with, your regular running kicks or trail shoes or hoka type for more cushioning? 2, how did you carry your stuff, your suitcase, from Glasgow to edinburgh? did you use a special company that does that or does the organization help with that? I´m flying from Spain and I need to figure out how to carry my regular suitcase.

Hey! I was wearing Brooks running shoes which I had been training in. These didn't cause me any issues at all so I highly recommend picking shoes that you know you can travel long distances in. The company do a great job of taking your bags from the beginning to the end of the race but this information should be on the event website. it is worth double checking the restrictions!

Hei. Great video ! We are gonna do this next year. With such an early start. … how did you get your luggage to your hotel In Edinburgh? We dont live In the UK and are wondering how to solve that lol . Well done !!!!

It is such a great event! The organisers have a baggage system where you can check in luggage and they will take it from the start point to the end point. There might be a limit in terms of size and weight which I think is outlined on the website so it might be worth taking a look at that or messaging GB Ultras directly. I imagine there will be a lot of people in the same situation!
