In this video I show you what it looks like to run and jump off a trailer going the same speed as it moving forward. Will you just stand still on the ground? I also show you what it looks like to jump on a moving vehicle. Do you fall off or stay with it?

I don't think you CAN jump in freefall. I am sure there is a better explanation than this, and I am also sure the answer is no. I just replied to see if anybody actually does come up with the right explanation. But I think it has to do with momentum. Depending on how far the elevator falls, you need several times G to accelerate yourself in the opposite direction of G earth's gravity.

I think you can imagine such a technique taught to military forces would be a tremendous asset.

He's going like 8-10 mph. I've done worse as a child lmao. Learning how to land while falling 10 ft without padding is a skill I learned because I would launch myself out of a swing at a playground higher than the swing set itself. Never injured or broke an ankle or leg over the hundreds of times I've done it. Played with fire, did tumbling and stunts as a kid like a stuntman, and willingly threw myself into situations that had a high chance for failure or injury, mainly in the name of physics and experimentation. This is something pretty much everybody can replicate, especially if the car/truck is going like 5 mph. I would volunteer (as I'm miles more athletic and more willing to take a beating) to go way faster, like 15-20 mph, but maybe not over a parking lot lol. Like a flat field or something as soft as grass. You can push the limits on grass.

Do you deny physics? "An object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed. Nonetheless, it is accelerating due to its change in direction. The direction of the acceleration is inwards." www.physicsclassroom.com/mmedia/circmot/ucm.cfm We would absolutely FEEL the constant circular movement of earth as it's ACCELERATION inwards. Also we're on a claimed non inertial spinning reference frame in which things not attached in the inertial reference frame appear to drift 15 degrees per hour. Nothing appears to drift at 15 degrees per hour once leaving the non inertial spinning reference frame. Can anyone name one thing in nature that does? Coriolis deflection.

@@sovereignsupremeamerica8295 do you understand physics? That's a rhetorical question btw. While it's true that centripetal acceleration points towards the radial in direction, the fictitious force points outwards. Therefore on the equater (where you'd feel the most acceleration) centripetal force is acting against the force of gravity by 0.35%, this is constant acceleration btw; which is unperceivable. Gyroscopes drift at 15°s an hour, and you can verify this fact yourself by making a foucault pendulum.

1:16 As a person who has jumped out of a moving van as well as trains; I can tell you the answer is yes, you can. But the faster the train is going, the harder you have to kick off the train. If you can only jump at 10 mph, then you can ONLY jump off a train at that speed and land still. P.S. Once you land, it feels VERY strange. As all your life your body/brain knows running and jumping leads to you needing to dampen your inertia. But in this case, it doesn't happen. It causes a similar jarring feeling to being in a car accident.

Very interesting video! So even if you can not match the speed of a vehicle moving, -in the remote case of an emergency- it would always be better to jump -if possible- to the opposite direction of the movement of the vehicle, right? Edit: Now I'm curious about jumping from a moving vehicle but without running, more like, ducking on the edge, leaning forward and jumping diagonally, almost horizontally, what is the speed of a human jump? I think something like that could be tested more safely over water.

but then again it's easier to get a clean landing while looking the direction your going. Prolonging your momentum slow down while landing is way harder backwards because our bones can't bend backwards. So remember to turn around when jump in the opposite direction.

@boy lasagna bruh. I am fully aware about my data as a content strategist. But that's normal because the algorithm is made for that. What you input in your accounts will be stored so algorithms could use that. Why are you alarmed with that? What you should be afraid of is when your technology controls you morre than you control it. I don't get it why many people don't get this even after all the videos on YT they can access freely. Edit: What i said is not carelessness of my data. That's, in fact, understanding it that there's nothing scary with algorithms unless you did something scary. what you put is what you get. Thats all on you not on algorithms.
