30 Minutes, One Run
And you go from there.
It is time for everybody to establish a running routine, it is necessary not optional.
There is no replacement to running outside, with regards to physical and above all mental benefits.
The challenge:
Do one 30 minute run, try to go at a solid pace and see how you feel the next day.
Then you go again when you feel ready. And sooner as expected you will be at 3 runs per week.
Speaking about 3 runs per week: I got something coming up for you soon, this video here is only a little introduction.
Let's go my friend, share your thoughts down in the comment below and subscribe to miss nothing.

Absolutely, brother. Do you know the poem "I went into the woods" from David Foster Wallace in his book Walden? Read it. "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms..."

A great message Simon. I have engaged in a plethora of training styles. And I must say running probably leaves me feeling the most happy and at peace with myself and the world, no doubt about it.

Running is great if one is able. Not everyone is. So let's say 30 minutes outside moving in whatever way one can.

Respect for wanting to get back into the running brother The absolute best tip I can give to you is: go about it in increments and go for it progressively. For example start by running 5 minutes and walking 5 minutes. See how your body responds. If everything goes well you increase the running time to 8 minutes and 2-3 minutes walking. And sooner as you think you will be at your 5k distance. On top of that whenever you have the opportunity to go out for a walk around the block, do it. It helps your recovery aswell as your mental health, which is not to underestimate when you go through an injury. Keep me updated about how it is going!

And of course I meant that you can do multiple blocks of the 5 minute runs / walks For example 2-3 times each, so 20-30 minutes in total

That's great simon, thanks for the detailed plan. What about lower body strengh training, you mentioned on your chat you don't focus on lower body as a single unit is that correct? Do you think you'll do a running based lower body workout series? Would be great to see some running focused workouts 😊

@@imunro2797 that is actually a very good video series idea! Thank you I will most certainly do that As for lower body exercises, I personally noticed that especially unilateral leg exercises as lunges (with bodyweight and also weighted with dumbbells) and single leg deadlifts helped me big time. The single leg deadlift is great because it puts emphasis on the glutes which are absolutely key for runners.
