Don't forget used shoes. I own over 50 shoes that retailed originally between $150 to $280 and paid around $40 for most. Almost all had few miles on and only had tiny amount of dirt on outsoles. All still smelled new. Most came from my local running store as returns or eBay.

I think knowing a little about the way your feet is shaped and the compatibility with the running shoes is important too: Wide vs narrow feet; shape of the shoes; etc.

Toe shape is a good example of this. I've got an Egyptian foot, so big toe is longest and that doesn't work with some brands so try a range of companies.

I think when you start running you need to be able to run as often as you want, and build volume without hurting yourself: to do so, the way to go is high cushion shoes. To keep price down, go with past season shoes: I've just got Puma Magnify 2 for 50€.

Have Velocity 2, bought Velocity 3 for my step daughter, 30% discount. Looks fantastic as well. Keep up the good work.

That moment when you immediately like a shoe so much that you get a second pair asap. I've had: - Endorphin speed 3 - Kinvara 13 - Adios pro 3 - Boston 12 - Novablast 4 - Superblast 2 but the only shoe I've ever went and bought a second pair of was the rebel v3 (It's still my overall favourite). So yeah I agree with the part about not getting sucked into buying hero shoes

I am 6 months old to running now and my current shoe rotation is - ASICS Novablast 4 - Daily Trainer ( bread & butter ) Saucony Excursion Tr 16 - Trail Running Shoe Brooks Glycerin 20 Stealthfit - Max Cushion / Recovery / Treadmill Hoka Mach 6 - Daily Trainer And Speed Day Shoe ASICS Superblast 2 - Long Run Shoe Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 - Speed Day And Race Day Shoe. I know I have spent a lot as a beginner and probably don’t need this many shoes but, I run at least a 5k everyday and my weekly avg is around 30-40 km and I gave up smoking and alcohol so I am able to save a lot of cash which I’ve been gladly spending on shoes 😅

Yes. The immediate out of pocket expenses plus long term health related expenses mean you're probably still saving a ton of money. Best of luck.

My first running shoes have made my feet sorer than dossing about in my skate shoes for a 10 mile walk. the first few days were some sort of adjustment to cushioned soles I guess. Just worth a mention...

I was looking to replace my Puma Velocity Nitro 2s as the winter workhorse; sounds like I’ll be going with the 3s then

Nike Winflo's. Good price, decent shoe. Just in case you decide running is not for you.

Im a beginner. Im only on my sixth day of training but i already have 8 shoes. 😂

If we were ever silly enough to believe the marketing from running shoe companies then any shoe older than 5 minutes is no good, was never any good, and will kill you!
@deshkanagrikhoon11 сағат бұрын
Imo beginner runners are the one's who have put at least 6-8 months of consistent running. People less that this amount of time on foot(running) should go with whatever shoe they have at home unless they get any pain with the shoe they already have.

Don’t agree. If someone starts running then I think it’s best to get your gait checked. Then buy a running shoe that’s comfortable and supportive. Don’t need a shoe rotation or anything like that, but they should get a running shoe to feel good and avoid injury
