Mary, a big Congrats on a really hard and hilly course. 3:24 is a fantastic time, and just a minute off your PB. You should be very proud. Thanks for keeping it real. Paul

guys i just want you to know that, right after watching this video, i went and registered for the Sydney City2Surf in a more ambitious start wave than i was planning, i am slightly scared but the two of you have inspired me to dream big, with the knowledge that even if it doesn't work out on the day, the journey itself will be worth it. big congrats, Mary, what an epic effort and a great run, and onwards and upwards to Chicago!

Awww that was incredible and probably even more inspiring than a ‘good’ day. We can all keep going when we’re feeling great - it’s much harder to not just stick with it, but still have a positive experience when our legs (and ticker) don’t show up. You’re a super star.

“It’s Mary Bridges! Go get him [Ben]. I’m putting that in the comments.” @6:26 Glad to have put a smile on your face. Recognized you by your distinctive gait. Like you, I survived Boston and am racing Chicago. Let’s kick some ass and 🙏🏼 for good weather. Ironman training in the interim.

This is really inspring. I used to be able to run distances of a half marathon on a weekly base and fell into depression after I lost my beloved grandma 3 years ago. I gained about 33kg (~72pound) and try to fight my way back to the level I used to be. To push me, I set my goal to run a marathon here in germany next year. Hopefully I'll make, right now everything feels heavy but my granny wouldn't want me to give up. :'3

"What a race" is right! In so many ways. Congrats - you battled out an amazing result, for feeling flat, on a warm day and a tricky course! FWIW, I ran it too, sounds like a very similar experience. Hard work, 4 min behind you half way, 8 min at the finish with an empty tank. Same response - mostly proud, and I *loved* it. (Plus by far the worst DOMS I've ever had.) Enjoy the break and the following Chicago training!

Mary, You did so well.! Every single marathon is so different. It's never ever easy - Ben's words. The bigger picture, marathon training builds you up mentally and physically but as Ben has said the day doesn't always reflect that. I know for you both Marathon PBs are important goals but the growth really is something that is for life and you are still on that journey. No one can take that away from you! One of your many fans who know how much more you are than 'just' the day itself. Enjoy the break and recover.

Mary, you amaze! I don't know how either you or Ben can RACE a very warm Boston AND document the process--with a smile on your face--at the same time. It just seems so insurmountable to me, and the fact that you two...well, surmount it is further proof that you're runners down to the yolk. I love watching it! Onward to Chicago!

Great job Mary!! Not only on the video, but more importantly on your race. Boston is a tough one to PR/PB if you have run any number of marathons before and you were really close to yours. Hats off to you for pushing on and getting another BQ. I just ran London and had a bad day, but I running Chicago as well and look forward to hopefully seeing you there. Rest up and enjoy your nonstructured running for a while.
