@flobergruns The whole time when race started, went straight to the app and track you the whole race. Every mile pace was on point, planned perfectly and smooth. There were hills obviously but you didn't let it take you, 6:30 on them was amazing. Last 3-4, I bet it was tough, heartbreak hill and more. Still after all that, managed to get 2:38 and PR at Boston is something that would've been a dream. It was reality. I was crying when I saw the time, all that when I was dealing with COVID. If you can read this, CONGRATULATIONS Eric. Cheers to many more PRs and racing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Was watching you during the race on the app and wore out my voice going "COME ON GO GO!" when your little dot got withing 200 meters of the finish. Saw your results pop up and you were sub 400th and just lost my mind cheering again! Dude you are so motivating and inspirational. This may sound odd, but during this training block series it felt like you fell in love with the monotony of consistency and reaped the rewards. This internet stranger is so proud of your hard work.

You should know something, Eric. The marathon is a very selfish and lonely sport: you run alone, racing the clock/your set goal, hours of being inside your head with nothing to do but listen to your thoughts, battling yourself, the inner struggle of mind over matter. BUT you INSPIRE so many other people, the people around you, your followers who you’ve never met, you show people that it’s a fight and the struggle is not unique to them. Sometimes we don’t achieve a set goal and that could be considered a “failure,” but some, like yourself, show that it’s nothing more than a learning experience and something to build on for next time. Keep going man. And thank you for inspiring me to reach for higher goals.

Started following you stuff a couple weeks back cause I saw you wanted to break 2:35:00 and so did I. I think you captured the journey of marathon training perfectly throughout your videos. Some days you feel on top of the world. Some days you don’t even feel like putting the shoes on, but at the end of the day it’s all worth it on race day. Wish I had noticed I was running next to you as I was clowning for the camera at 1:34 so I could show love for the content but hopefully this comment will do! Isn't it just incredible that people like Matty offer to help pace and also help create content for videos like this. I've done it a few times for friends at Melbourne Marathon ( here in Australia ) and although you were close this year ) it's an amazing feeling documenting these journeys so that people like yourself can have these moments for us and more importantly for you.. What I hear ( and I'll most likely never be able to run Boston ) is that it is a fairly brutal course and over the years how much the weather can change.. I had a 2hr 30 dream that was looking quite close to becoming reality for next weekend ( Ballarat Marathon ) but due to a bad case of the flu and really hitting me hard, I lost all the focus and determination to even try. I'll just go for the atmosphere and joy and chase that dream another day. Absolutely inspiring video Eric and I love seeing this sort of video coming together.. Thank you.. Best of luck for the future and running.. Look forward to following along..

Today, I had my final workout before taper for an upcoming Half. 5 miles at goal Half Marathon pace. Goal was to average 8:00/mi. I averaged 7:40s. Come race day, I'll have run nearly 1000 miles since my last Half Marathon in Oct 2023. 1000 miles since I went out too fast and failed to beat my PR of 1:53:50. In 9 days, I'm confident I'll be smashing that PR. I've been following your channel for over a year and your channel has definitely kept me motivated through the hard days.
