I appreciate the testing, it is interesting. However, when the no load amp draw is different on all of the motors displayed in your graph, all other measurements with gear changes are also affected. The only item that remains a constant is the slave motor with the same gear on it and input voltage to the drive motor. You should find a way to have the no load amp draw of the drive motors as identical as possible

The differences goes to show how different they perform in your car. The load motor helps to show the actual power the motor is capable of putting out. Without a load, the motor might be extremely fast, but once a load is put on if, it becomes a dog.

Hello James. I no longer have the Fantom. During my original test, it showed to extremely low on torque. To be honest, I don't think it would spin the 41 tooth pinion. It struggled with on the Load Master. However, they have a new version out. I have my eyes on it.

I made this tool by taking two WMH Racing motor mounts and putting them on a sliding bracket that's bolted to an ABS plate. I could make another, but I would have to put number together.

whats the point in measuring the slave motor rpm? thats gonna change depending on what pinions you use, because of gear ratios not load, whereas the rpm of the driven motor will change but only because of resistance and be a more useful number. i miss the old way you use to test motors, with gauss measurements and stuff.

I still test them the old way. I performed the old test, on this, over a year ago. This new way will allow us to see how they compare under different loads. Testing the slave motor takes place as the wheels on RC car. Do you notice the difference in the performance when under different loads? It can be a little confusing. I try to explain it the best I can.

Can you test a tekin pro 4 HD 4000 kv? Can it be shimed? . I see you compare mostly stock spec motors .

Hello J-1lokes. Would love to get into the 1/8 scale motors. I'm hoping to be able to in the future. As for shimming them, I have heard of people shimming these motors. Basically, if it comes apart, it can be modified. I mostly test the stock spec motors because they are the most popular. I have tested a couple up-graded motors, to see what the hype was. I have done videos on all of them.

Sounds good. The 1/8 stuff. I was asking about the 540 cans 4 pole. There for mostly SCT. Comparing with a 7.5 hobby wing. I mostly run at a large track with my ET410.2 . Like your Dino set up.

@@j-1lokes294 Gotcha. Doing mod motors are far on my list. There's just too many windings and brands to be able to try them all. Maybe if they are donated to the channel. It's hard enough to keep up with the 17.5 motors. LOL...

A under geared motor sometimes creates more heat and amp draw then a brushless motor that is geared right. Where this is a torque motor I would say it likes gearing more then under gearing.
