ARC OF ATTRITION 2023 | Winter 100 mile ultra marathon in the UK | Run4Adventure

The Mudcrew Arc of Attrition is a race that's very close to my heart with it being run on trails that I know so well. Having taken on this challenging 100 mile footrace 4 times before, I was fully aware of what it takes to make it all the way to the finish line in Porthtowan. Training hadn't gone to plan but I did manage to have a few more consistent months as we headed closer to the race. As I lined up on the start line, I was feeling pretty confident that I was mentally and physically prepared for what was to come and this is the story of how my Arc of Attrition 2023 unfolded.

Never commented on a KZbin video before, but wanted to say thank for capturing such a special moment for me (38:55 - the guy with the red bandana finishing). Hard to put into words what a special experience this was, but you’ve captured the whole thing beautifully. Sad to hear the troubles between Lamorna and LE, I was in such a black hole during that section as well but luckily was on a high coming into LE or I’d have called it too… swings and roundabouts. After saying never again, I promptly signed up to next years race, hopefully see you there 😊

Great story told very well, I sometimes consider doing this race but just don't think I have enough 'want' in me to get to the end. Tough video to make I'm sure Lloyd. But seeing your Salomon pole quiver reminded me I needed to check if they're back in stock, and they ARE! Thanks! I know that's a pretty small silver lining, but they add up. (And I'll be using it for my Harrier adjustable carbon's I bought on your recommendation. Did 40k with steep climbs and lots of mud last weekend and they worked great.)

What an excellent video. Loved it. So sorry…gutted really….that you’re run didn’t go to plan. It just goes to show, despite all the training, it’s what you feel like on the day that matters. Look forward to seeing you finish next year! I’m 72 and can’t run any more having had a stroke. But I can still walk….and your videos inspire me to walk 10k every morning on our Spanish mountain tracks. Soon we’ll return to live in our house in Sennen and I’ll enjoy those coastal paths again. 👍🍷
