In this video I will explain how adding an extra session to your week could add a little fitness boost to your running.
You shouldn't be looking to do this all the time, but it can help your body physically get used to running on tired legs, and also psychologically.
Of course the pace will be slower because you're tired, but you get the same benefits or even more with a super compensation effect.
You can see more tips & tutorials here: (over 10 hours of tips, and 60 different lectures covering recovery, nutrition, psychology, strength training, and very running-specific help)

you are the athlete I needed, that helps me alot with his videos to get out of my burnout(depression!) / high overweight into running again. To think healthy on a long term, not to run only, not to forget Yoga, Stretching, Strength, Nutrition, Sleep etc. thank you very much Stephen!

Super compensation with multiple (medium) hard sessions in a row is indeed a tool that brought me great results in the past. But what you say is true and important: use it with caution and not too often, overtraining and injury are just around the corner.

Back to back long moderate intensity sessions was my bread and butter prepping for a road 50k. That said there's a fine line of doing that too often before you all of the sudden finding it too hard to recover from. Great advice all around 👍🏼

Another great one! Heres a video idea. I’m writing this during a marathon training low. How do I adapt and adjust my training when I am highly overworked and stressed in personal life. My temperament wants me to at least still do the suggested trainings from my watch if not even run till I forget about my real life problems, but that’s always a short cut to a burnout for me. Also it’s crazy frustrating how performance doesn’t get better when working too hard and losing balance. Thx for all you do 🙏

Great video! No comments about the content but I have two about the footage. I really liked your 360 views. You're obvioulsy running fast, but it made us feel you're running at 50Kmph. lol Also, I really like the voice over style running videos. I don't know why every other KZbinr is trying to talk while running and they're huffing and puffing and they can't seem to stay on topic. Being a runner KZbinr doesn't mean the viewers have to see you running all the time. Keep up the good work!

I did something similar today. I ran some intervals last night and then did a tempo run today just 18hrs later...could definitely feel it and my HR was about 10bpm higher than usual. Still felt good though, didn't feel any pain or injury setting in. Awesome video, keep uploading!

Love your channel! Been a Stryd user for 3 years, when you see a power number that you know makes no sense (for me) it's normally been debris in the wind port which elevates the Air Power numbers. If that was the case it should clearly show in the Stryd PowerCenter session data under Air Power%. I have had this occur about 3 times over 3 years, normally just taking the pod off and blowing into the port a few times will clear the obstruction. Once I had to go home and dry the port out (slush). If it's not an Air Power reporting issue, might need to calibrate the pod vs a known flat distance and then adjust the calibration, and then disable Auto Calibration. Also had issues when using Bluetooth, so I've resorted to always using the Ant+ ID for the pod. Good-luck with your training!

Ah nice, yeah it was probably 100 too high, or more even.. It's brand new, and so sadly will need to figure it out as I love Stryd

@@stephenscullion262 Most people don't need to, they are designed to be fairly accurate out of the box, but there are outlier devices. For me, Stryd has been a true and honest substitute for RPE. I still track HR as a secondary metric for those days where the body is drained. And race planning to ensure you start easy and nail negative splits every race.

Re: Stryd, power will be higher than what you would have seen with Coros as it takes elevation and windspeed into account, I have coros and it's way lower. I agree that your power looks a bit high on Strava for that run, but you need to get your Critical power (~10k ish) set right and your weight. My critical power is 386, similar weight to you, but I'm slower! I'd say your CP is at least 410-420. An accurate critical power is super important for you to get the most out of Stryd as everything works on a % of that.

Just bought the marathon plan. I haven't actually entered a marathon yet might have a target the end of the year. Got a question though, the long runs, can I split these into two sessions. Fist at the beginning of the day and second after work? Wouldn't be all the time but maybe 50%. If anyone else cares to answer feel free.
