You need to see the right doctor for the right problem. See a general practitioner and they will give you medicine. See a surgeon and he will recommend surgery. I once had an issue with my jaw and my dentist suggested surgery, however it was my chiropractor that resolved the issue.

Yes. Especially the alkaline water. You can use a little bicarbonate to alkalise it and just sip through the day so it reaches the throat. Then you might want to work on the reflux component but use apple cider vinegar capsules or hcl but not apple cider vinegar

I was diagnosed with iritis about 12 months ago. Doctors/specialists couldn't find any underlaying health issues except high body inflammation, where I treated with diet change/supplements, but somehow I cannot get to the bottom of the Iritis. I got LPR after a respiratory infection, been to so many doctors for 7 years asking everytime why LPR onsets after a viral illness but 0 answers everytime. I know the UES is dysfunctional in LPR but why after a respiratory virus? Runny nose, mucus in throat for 7 years CONSTANTLY, doing x2 40 mg PPI, low acid diet (been on them for 3 months with small progress). I didn’t even know reflux was a thing before my respiratory infection (I drank coca cola with no issues before the virus that gave me LPR and now I can’t anymore without my tongue burning). I weigh 52 kgs so a low acid diet is hell..
@drpeterdinglePhD
@drpeterdinglePhD Ай бұрын
I don’t like the low acid diet. Although low acid drinks are good. It is likely the virus was more of the condition than causing the LPR. LPR can often mimic viral and bacterial infections. Or even exacerbate them. Get on to some melatonin. It can really also help this condition.

Hey Dr Dingle, just recently come across your content and really like it. I've learnt about a connection between subclinical metabolic acidosis, hyperventilation syndrome and POTS. I've learnt that bicarb increases CO2 and so far taking is actually helping my breathing and ANS issues! On another note, I experience a lot of throat clearing throughout the day and notice my singing voice at times is very thin and lacks the same level of richness and resonance that it does at other times. Can you please cite the study or source for this claim - "95% of ear infections were because of LPR"? As I experience constant ear fullness and wonder if these two are connected.

Hold up, i'm slightly confused again. Bi-carb MUST be taken on an empty stomach or else it will interfere with your stomach acid digestion. So, why is it ok to add bi-carb to other drinks throughout the day? I thought you would generally want acidic drinks, not alkaline drinks at all other parts of the day..?? OR Is this advice in this video ONLY for those suffering with Silent Reflux?

You are correct. Primarily those with silent reflux. But it would not hurt either way as the amount is small and low impact on stomach acid and only if consumed with the food would it be a problem.

Hi Dr. Dingle I just found your video on LPR. I have some of the symptoms like a clear runny nose and constant clearing of my throat with phlegm that I can't seem to get up the 1st couple hours every day for the last 15 years. I also notice sometimes after I eat during the day I get the same symptoms. My Dr. told me that its allergies and gave me allergy meds. but doesn't do anything. After watching your video I bought ph test strips. I checked my saliva 1st thing in the morning and I have a ph somewhere between 8 and 9. What should I do? I don't eat white sugar, I use raw honey in the 12 oz of coffee I have each day. I don't buy sweets but do eat a pastry or a piece of candy now and again. I would appreciate any info you can give me.

Your oh is fine. What you’re after is first reducing the LPR. That is temporarily avoiding any drinks that are slightly acidic and sipping on bicar or alkaline water. So more expose to the throat. Then watch the reflux videos and start with that. As it is likely the underlying problem at night. It can be allergies but less likely
