I discovered Runrig 3 months ago, I so sorry I missed them all these years. They’re wonderful.
@alastairmacdonald Жыл бұрын
I stopped following them when Donnie left the band. Only getting back into following them in 2016 with "the Story" and of course then they stopped for good just a couple of years later. I feel bad about what I missed, it must be hard discovering them now and realising how much you missed. I feel for you.

I discovered them during covid through Colin McLeod and Rory’s Highland Allstars collaboration! I could have cried when I found they’d finished- just what I’d been looking for all these years ! Brilliant and a bit of a Christian ethos going on ! They’ve made this Sasainach very happy- all those albums to play through! Rory is the man! Please listen to Colin McLeod he’s really grey and so good live if you can catch him!!

What brilliant ambassadors this band are for Scotland ! As someone born in northern England they have helped to raise my spirits in these dark times ! Times when it seems in England just now that "..the best lack all conviction, while the worst are fully of passionate intensity ! ". We all need to believe that a better, more tolerant, more just future lies ahead for us all, whatever our nationality or origins! ...

First concert alone (or only with friends @15/16) I've listened to them for years & was forever nicking the tape of theirs my dad had 😂 till I bought them on cd. The gaelic songs hit hard & reminded me of my Nanas neighbour who was a native speaker. Like my great gran was (didnt get to know her). Ive lost what little I did know. Silly things like fish (he had a large exotic fish tank with all the bells & whistles) trying to relearn & learn more now.

Glasgow's unofficial anthem :) a friend of mine wants me to cover this... wish i could figure out that "big meaty" chord they use throughout the song... (reminds of that "big guitar sound" of many an 80s band). thanks for upload. Edit: For any musicans out there, I think it's standard guitar tuning, CAPO on 2nd , C chord (but only the first 4 strings are strummed... twice) peace. thanks for reading.

But then got confused when I had to translate the question, Runrig ARE playing in the hall, right? Lol. I hope it's accurate with Duolingo but I got. Tha Runrig a'cluiche anns an talla, ceart? I won't even try to type how you pronounce all that. Since I don't think the way I write it, in a way I can understand will make sense. Cause I don't understand how all those chicken scratch symbols in Wikipedia under pronunciation is supposed to tell me how to pronounce words that the app just won't tell me how to pronounce. There's a lot of them.
