This was meant to be John Watersesque satire, hence Jan, our exuberant theatre kid turned wannabe star, as Jane, the ultra-subdued wannabe star. It is tongue-in-cheek mockery of all those Hallmark movies with repetitive storylines, gratuitous shirtless scenes, and wilfully ignored plot holes. I think it's really pretty funny if you watch it with highly limited expectations.

Parody and spoofs are supposed to be funny. This is just plain bad .. I enjoyed the experience the first time, but find it unwatchable in repeat. Jaymes Mansfield stole the show and I love Porkchop playing a male role like Divine did in the original Polyester film.

I think it's a camp classic. Just watched it last night with a friend and we howled. Sometimes you just want to watch something so bad it's good. I will say it's weird, though, that RuPaul is obviously filming his scenes in a green room and not with the actors. Why did he do this? Because he could only squeeze in scenes between filming of Drag Race? It definitely looks cheap if you pay even the slightest bit of attention to it.
