Ironically, I feel like they suit each other's parts better. Diana doesn't have a lot going on in her scene so the reliance is on facial expressions (which Ginger is the best at), plus if I remember correctly from an article I read she's a pageant girl so she would be able to exude the energy better. Catherines scene is raunchy/filthy, and that's the kind of thing Katya can lean into really well (since a lot of her work outside of the show is in the dark sex jokes vein) and the Russian accent would be the cherry on top. She could also incorporate some fun gymnastics things. I feel like that's what would have happened if they were allowed to pick their parts and weren't just assigned them.

They gave Katya such a subdued role despite her being insane, favourited Alaska way too much, didn't mention her horrible padding, gave Katya and Phi Phi the least funny verses, criticized Katya for her hair cut and dress as not being accurate but didn't mention Detox's Marie Antionette, didn't give the Russian queen a Russian role, completely brushed over the fact that Detox and Alaska barely knew the lyrics, cut out Tatianna and Coco despite their verses being the best, they set Phi Phi up to fail, they criticized Katya for characterization and choreography that she didn't have control over, and overall completely messed up on judging. I love Katya so much and I'm still angry that they screwed her over in this episode :(

The sad part is coco only went home since she had to change her talent show performance. She originally was going to do a lip sync to Janet Jackson but the show didn't want to pay song fees. Like how every talent show is either no words or a queens own song

I've never enjoyed these challenges because it's mostly about how the characters are written, I mean even if Katya went full batshit crazy on stage and did a reveal or something her written character is still worse than all the rest.

This is exactly why people hate season 7. All those scripted acting challenges where you cannot be creative at all (like at least do improv challenges but no). Imagine how great it could've been with better challenges because clearly it gave us some of the most iconic queens

Honestly I didn’t like Katya because season 7 wasn’t on Hulu so seeing her perform this as one of my first impressions of her was like “dang I guess season 7 was weak.” But when I saw her making her own rap in the finale and her doing the lip syncs I was shocked by how good she was and now I like her a lot.This was not a good representation of her talent at all

I love this rusical. Everyone was really really good in it. So much fun to watch, over and over again.
