I've been obsessed with Raja for so long. I started watching Fashion Photo Ruview because I loved Raven but then I stayed because Raja cracked me up. She is my #1 favorite queen. But I'm nervous. I was ready to tell everyone else on AS7 they could go home because if Raja is there its over....but Raja is being awfully quiet on the AS7 interviews and I can't see her being that way if she slayed. @@alexdominguez2325 you're wrong. the two of them (and symone too) were invited to the met gala basically representing drag race because the show became this huge thing and these events have to tap into whatever's hyped in the moment. They were just the fashion queens to choose from more recent seasons. So that's not an actual reason to say they're better fashion queens. If the show was as popular as it is now when Raja was on, she would definitely have done all the things Violet and Aquaria did, and more. She was relevant even before she got on drag race. And above anything else, the truth is Raja is just OBJECTIVELY better, more creative and inventive, and she can actually build and sew garments, while Aquaria and Violet won their balls with hot glue (people conveniently forget about that) AND she was actually the blueprint for all the others (I'm sure Violet, Aquaria, etc. would actually confirm that). Anyone who knows anything about what they're talking about will admit that Raja is the one in a league above the rest.

This would never work nowadays. People demand FASHION! People demand ELEGANZA! These queens spend thousands on costumes and sometimes still end up looking horrible. The producers know way too well that most queens on the show cannot sew anything remotely close to the expensive fashion they bring to the show. So sewing challenges are far and between these days.

For me this was the season that cemented Drag Race as a cultural touchstone. Some of the most popular queens to ever appear were on this season; of course Raja and Manila, but also Alexis and Yara, the "make the most of every opportunity" winner Shangela, trailblazer Carmen Carerra, and even Mariah, Delta and India. Because of these amazing entertainers we have a season 14, an All-Stars 7 and successful franchises all over the world and growing. In a small way???? Nah. Tbey showcased their quietness and confidence for at least one entire generation to see. It made it ok for us to maybe paint our nails blk or wear eyeliner. All the way to expressing our full fem side. This wasn't wasn't small thing. This show at season 3 and 4 kept so many boys and young men, from giving up. It made them feel seen. That there was hope in their future. To see hope in this world again was everything for them. It's not a stretch to say this show has saved thousands of lives.

I just finished s3 and was really surprised to find out Raja wasn't super well-liked and well-respected. To me it was clear by the end of the first episode that it was his competition to lose, and he stayed pretty consistent throughout the season. While some queens may have excelled in some areas (Shangela was more charismatic, Alexis did better on screen), Raja was the only one who had it all- he didn't lack in any area.

I love Raja. The first Rupaul season I watched and Manila and Raja were both my favorites. I would have been happy with either outcome, yet I understand why Raja won over Manila. I can’t wait to see Raja again in AS7.
