I was just going to say… you can have 16 of 5045 engines in the Yamaha ql1. 😄 I use them on vocals and they definitely help with bleed.

A Behringer-made Midas plus a 2-channel 5045 unit is still considerably less expensive than a QL. If you work with equipment of that calibre you ought to know there aren't single-point solutions or approaches. Budget is never a non-issue, even for large production companies. The Yamaha Q-series is a no-brainer for musicals / stage plays even at its higher relative starting price, but in comparison there is no way you'll need more than two channels on expanders when working with a band-- most band members' mic will never leave the stand, and the one that do get put nearer to center closer to the drums for a reason. If there are exceptions to this the vast majority of the time it will be a band whose manager has enlisted a touring engineer. Sweeping generalisations in live audio engineering is foolhardy.
