As long as we’re the world’s reserve currency we can run deficits. That’s a perk that comes from having both the world’s largest economy and its most powerful military. There’s nobody out there on the horizon who is poised to supplant America. Our greatest threat is if we turn inward and withdraw from the leadership position we’ve held since WWII.

The US can run deficits as long as the Treasury has a printing press. The problem is the rest of the world isn't buying our Treasury notes , so the danger is it is a reserve currency , but China has created monetary systems that allow countries to trade with China with local currencies. A,Eric an farmers can buy expensive John Deere equipment that is massively expensive while Brazil and everyone else can buy equipment 80% cheaper without those lobbyist imposed EPA certified engines.

Going to Wash DC to visit a congressman is a total waste of time ,unless you have a check in hand for their next campaign. You will see an office aide who will say " we are on the same side ". China has permanently changed the agricultural industry in the USA. Foreign competitors have lower cost inputs and China as a dedicated and motivated customer.
