They need to make it super clear that in the beta, that this is for people that havent or want to replay the beta, and they havent updated any of the things they worked on outside the original beta. Like make it the first screen you read, befor even being on the mainmenu.

They literally said it in the original video at 2:56 and it is also stated in the description of the original video. And it is plastered all over the comment section there as well. Not to mention they also already said in their community update a few weeks back "if we were to do another beta, it would not include any of the performance improvements or weapons changes". I am sorry, but if people still think this is an improved build... yeah, that is their own fault. At what point have they done enough on their end? Only thing missing is a gigantic red pop-up in-game with sirens blaring at triple the volume of the game and a text saying "BE ADVICED! THIS IS JUST THE OLD BETA BUILD AGAIN! THERE ARE NO PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS IMPLEMENTED HERE!"

@@Hydraclone Then I would say they are just lazy 🙂 I do not keep up with everything either, but if I heard that a second beta test for a game I am interested in were announced, I would at least go online and get information about possible changes from the first beta, at which point you would 100% come across something like this. If they just jump in based on their own assumptions, without bothering to at least spend 5 minutes reading up about it, then that is their own fault. If it were the first beta, sure, I'd just jump in without a care in the world as well (in fact I did) but with a second beta, and knowing the first round had some harsh technical issues on some systems, I would 100% prepare myself with any information I can find.

to be fair, Capcom's never done Gypceros's gimmick properly. The only way they could do his gimmick properly is if you encountered him *for the first time* in a multi monster hunt that was setup in a way where you have to kill Gypceros first so that no "Quest Clear" or fanfare pops up. They'd also have to remove your lock on and gray out his icon on the UI on top of this to make his gimmick work. The only people falling for it are the people that genuinely don't pay attention.

I thrilled for a second chance at the beta, wasn't able to play much of the first one. Also giving me the impression that Nerscylla might come back now that her favorite snack is in the game now. (In the older games you could carve 1-2 materials from Gypceros before he'd smack you away.)

Two things, Rurikhan: 1. The beta periods are from FEB 6-9 and, separately, FEB 13-16 2. I think even though there won’t be a whole lot of performance changes, I do believe they’ll add in the benchmarking tool for everyone’s convenience. I would def check out the official page on the beta, and specifically the changes section, as they have a little more info on what is going to be in the second beta. Edit: finished the vid and saw that you figured out the beta times, so ignore my first point.

You could always carve Gypceros when he is playing dead (at least in MH4U, MHFU). As far as I remember you could carve up to 3 times, before he interrupts your animation (or you had to stand on certain safe spots).

I hope that at the start of the Open Beta Test, a dismissible message box appears, informing players that this second beta is based on the first, with no performance adjustments made. You could always carve gypceros when he played dead its part of what made it convincing (at least in a multi monster hunt in a solo hunt the lack of a quest complete/countdown timer made it obvious) if you were quick you could carve twice.

The point of running a beta is not to run the final version of the product but to gather data on what needs improvement, plenty of people spoke up about the performance and other issues they faced which is what led to all of the changes we saw in the developer update recently. My point stands, the game hasn’t “launched” with terrible performance and plenty of people spoke up about the issues they encountered.

TLDR; I started with MHW, i love MH3U the most. I am not really excited about MH Wilds so far. I started my Monster Hunter journey with Monster Hunter: World. After that i managed to play almost every other title in the series, you could say i truly fell in love with this franchise, and if anyone is curious i think my absolute favorite Monster Hunter entry has to be MH3U. I am still playing it on my 3DS from time to time. Something about that games atmosphere village underwater combat, made it special in my eye's. Now to what i actually wanna say. I think from what i have seen and played performance issue's aside. Monster Hunter Wilds is the first time my excitement for a new entry has just been, "MEH". Something feels off to me which is totally fine. Besides my personal opinion i ofc hope and wish anyone that likes the things they seen so far to have an amazing time with the game and good hunting fellow hunters !

Personally I am really happy for second beta. For first my PC couldn't handle it so I played like 45 mins from which most of the time was spend trying anything in setting to make it look better than blurry mess or slide show. Now with new PC it should handle it fine, so I am looking forward to actually trying the game this time.

I just had missing floors…walls…npcs…and the seikrit would run in the sky cause the clifs didnt register. I hope they're still accepting feedback on the 2nd beta. Some weapons like the SnS got compensation buffs to make up for how terrible they were in the 1st beta, but honestly a lot of those buffs were not really what the communities for those weapons wanted and it feels like capcom just kind of adjusted whatever they wanted rather than listen to the feedback. I really want to drive it home that we need certain things on certain weapons, and not just whatever capcom wants. But naturally, there's gonna be idiots in the community that don't really understand the weapons and use toxic positivity to brush it all off and say that capcom has already buffed the weapons and that we should just let them do their thing, or that we're being ungrateful.

I am sure the people who've been ranting about the frame rates etc. wont be happy based on your take in the video. I take it at face value that they (the Devs) want everyone (including those who missed the first beta) to have a chance to play the beta again before final release. People who think that they are going to be polishing a beta to let people get taste of the game and all the improvements from the first beta are delusional. They are spending time on polishing the final product as they should be. What do we want? We want good frame rates across all platforms and weapon balancing. I do appreciate that, since dead bodies can be walked on as physical objects and not clipped through that means we won't know he's alive from not passing through him. That's at least a minor upgrade to this mechanic... Doesn't really matter though, since htey spoiled it! He even makes a noise, right after he carves it. I assume that's just a noise shortly before he starts moving but I like to imagine he's like. "Really dude, you're carving off my beak/crest? That hurts you dick." The official site also says that there's another monster, yet to be revealed to us, that is also coming to this second beta with gypceros. Will it be arkveld or another returning monster?

I'm disappointed this beta isn't with any performance changes. My PC is right on the border of having the game playable and I'd like some peace of mind that they'll sort it out. However I get right now they're trying to stress test the networking. It would be a large amount of effort to make an updated beta when it's unnecessary for a backend test.
