It's funny that Dragon's Dogma upon release was shunned because Skyrim is also around the corner and at the end Skyrim took all the hype and stuff.. But years later when most people already played skyrim for the millionh time, Rises from the ashes, Dragon Dogma came to take it's respect it deserved years ago and it's so wonderful that it is receiving the love and praise it deserved.. So CAPCOM where is Dragon's Dogma 2 announce it already!

One of the coolest moments for me in Dragon's Dogma was when the post-game began. I didn't expect it, but after killing Grigori (the big red dragon), the whole world changes, with the sky turning dark (with some green and red hints) and more buffed and new monsters appearing (and I first played the original version so I had to run all the way from Cassardis to Gran Soren so it was extremely difficult).

So, here's a story about Dark Souls 2 and me. As you all probably know, there's this stat called "adaptability". You increase that stat through upgrading Agility and Attunement. This stat increases speed of your rolls, speed of chugging Estus, and... Invincibility frames. I didn't know about that, I knew something was off, because I mentioned to the guys I'm friends with that something is off, I'm getting damaged on backstabs and all. But they didn't played the game themselves, likely didn't knew about adaptability either. But whatever, I'm going through game, pure strength build (covenant of Ultra Greatsword, everybody), didn't bother to upgrade either agility or attunement. So how do I learn about adaptability? There's this one boss in the game, he's called Fume Knight. You probably know the guy, stats released by FromSoftware show a whopping 93% failure rate. So, I'm out on the internet, looking at the guides, and there's a talk about adaptability, and I felt like I was about to loose it. Seriously, imagine. Going through the whole game, and learning about something so useful only on one of the thoughest bosses in the game. It breaks the man. Yes, yes, git gud casul, all my fault. But I can say with certainty that I was a different man before playing Dark Souls 2.

It's funny how you mention picking up Dark Souls only on a whim and a Steam sale, because I did PRECISELY the same thing with Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. My "main" PC is a mid-range laptop that I use for everything, and it meets all requirements for running MHW _other than raw CPU speed._ So yes I can play MHW (I just reached MR12 last session) but it's clear the game is too high-spec for my system to play properly.

@therighttrousers3434 жыл бұрын
Ah, I'm currently going through Sekiro. It's way too hard for my preference, but it's alright, I kind of want to beat it. I'm nearing the end. I really want just an easy game now. I'm late monster hunter, late Sekiro, I'd be more than happy to cheese Sekiro if I had the patience to grind for the ammo I'd need to use the prosthetic and cheese the correct way, but otherwise I'd have to do it with my mortal blade. And I'm sure not going for the ashura ending, because there's not a local save copy, nor going through it again.
@luminous25854 жыл бұрын
For me Sekiro somehow clicked in the opposite direction. The parrying only carries you through every encounter if you are a god at it and do it perfectly because some enemies just put too much pressure on you to handle a mistake. But after fighting that guy on top of the palace for 4-5 hours, I finally realized that you're better off not playing the rhythm game and instead pushing to make the enemy screw up and create your own openings. As for Dark Souls 2. I think it was my favorite of the three. Yes, combat was the slowest, and the level layout was the least complex. Still, combat did feel great once you got used to it after coming from the first game, and the build variety was amazing. I can't remember how many dozen different playthroughs I had of this game. Really, I played this so much, at some point you could tell me the name of any piece of equipment, and I could exactly tell you where to find it. Not anymore of course. I also think it had some great little twists you didn't see in the other games, like the foggy forest with the near invisible enemies, perfecting the Sir Alonne fight, or bonfire ascetics. Technically it might also have the highest difficulty if you take NG+x into account.
@nuke20994 жыл бұрын
The valuing defense more than offense doesn't make sense in MH from what Gaijin said. Throughout history shields have never been used in the primary hand because you use that for strength and it's the weapon hand since using a weapon requires more strength than a shield and using a shield in your main hand doesn't add anything for defense. If anyone did that in real life their civilization would have been extinct long ago especially since the arm you would use for the shield would always carry risk of injury thus you would never use your primary hand for it. The only way it makes sense in MH is if everyone is ambidextrous or they're left handed. So I have no idea where Gaijin got that from and none of it makes sense.
@rurikhan4 жыл бұрын
It's official information it was mentioned in an interview.
@nuke20994 жыл бұрын
@@rurikhan Fair enough. However Capcom themselves don't know how blocking with a shield actually works then. Using your dominant hand would not increase the blocking potential. The only realistic reason is that the hunters are ambidextrous. You can look up this info on google if you like but a shield was always held in the non-dominant hand historically for a good reason. Then again Capcom also said once that dinosaurs had fur so this doesn't surprise me.

I'm one of those people whose favorite Souls games are Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2; arguably the most RPG-mechanic focused of the soulslikes. Had a ton of fun making builds and playing with my friends through DkS2 in particular. Dragon's Dogma is also a game I absolutely love, and have played on several consoles. Sucks we missed our chance to play DDO; as it looked amazing, but here's hoping that sequel leak is true. Also hoping for the high scepter and alchemist to make it in, if it happens.

Mystic Knight crew where you at? Edit: In regards to DS2, I feel like the team behind it misunderstood the concept of difficulty that Miyazaki brought to the gaming world with Demon's Souls, which is punishing for your mistakes. Dark Souls 2 seems like it was designed to kill you just for the sake of it. Enemy ambushes (A LOT OF THEM), horrible platforming, SHRINE OF AMANA, etc. It was an enjoyable game but clearly the least inspired out of all 6 entries.
