I agree that the Rurocs look and perform awesome! I may have to pick one up one day. I still stick to what I have as it is easier to carry them in my backpack. The Rurocs are a bit bulkier with the full face configuration. On cooler riding days I use my snowboard helm with goggles combination. I switch out the lenses in the goggles as needed and ride clear at night. For warmer days I go with my vented bicycle helmet with its cycling glasses. I switch out those lenses to whatever is needed (i.e. dark, amber or clear). Helmets are mandatory for me at all times. Eye protection is as well because of the extreme wind you face. My eyeballs get so dry when I forget to bring the eye wear :)

I got the same helmet (also matte finish) for e-skating. I like the look a lot, I also like how it's modular and can be used for different situations. Where I live, helmets are not mandatory and most people don't wear them for cycling or (regular) skating. So wearing this stormtrooper-like helmet feels a bit strange to me here. However, I really appreciate the chin-guard which typical skate helmets do not have (except the TSG and a few others). As a e-skate beginner, I will probably fall a few times and this can really save you from some injuries if you fall face-down. I rarely use the goggles though, because they significantly limit my field of view and I feel it's important to see what's happening around you constantly...
@ADayintheLifeofMr235 жыл бұрын
spIetty I would have to agree about the goggles. It still is an adjustment. I snowboard too, so I’m sorta used to the way goggles limit your vision but it definitely is an adjustment with this helmet. Helmets aren’t required here either but better safe than sorry! Especially when they look this cool! 😊 my scooter gets up to 35mph....so I usually wear the full helmet. Wind at that speed makes my eyes water without the goggles. Thankfully I ride mostly on a trail so traffic and such isn’t a concern with my peripherals and the goggles. Thanks for watching!
@sirzackefeller4 жыл бұрын
I got the same helmet too, but be careful the chin guard isn't rated for high impacts or any downhill action, so while it's still obviously a cool and functional helmet, I'd treat my riding style with it much like I was wearing an ordinary half shell helmet. I know some people get these helmets thinking it offers true full face protection, but if you take it downhilling and end up taking a spill smashing your chin into the road, it's not going to protect you like a TSG Pass or Triple 8 Downhill or any other downhill rated helmet would.

Heyyooo! Yes, you do lose a decent amount of peripheral vision but it is something I’ve gotten used to. If you’ve ever snowboarded it isn’t much different than that. @ADayintheLifeofMr234 жыл бұрын
LJ Li That’s a REALLY tough one to answer. Ruroc sent out an email saying they were having their biggest sale ever for Black Friday and so I considered getting another one because I loved this one so much. The one I really had my eye on was the Toxin design. I think that’s super sick. But I can’t justify 400 bucks for that helmet. I was hoping the sale would be bigger than it was. They still wanted 350 for the toxin and I didn’t want to pay it. Now with that being said, that would have been my SECOND helmet so 3-400 for that I couldn’t justify. But I would absolutely buy this helmet again if it were my first helmet. The quality is solid. I haven’t had any issues but 300 is really borderline..... I know that wasn’t really an answer. Haha. But I think for me the style is worth a few extra bucks. I wanted to look as cool as I felt when I was riding it and this definitely does that.

DO the goggle lenses have a ANSI/ ISEA Z87.1 SAFETY RATING? Is the helmet comfortable after extended wear and do you have any problems with lense fog. Could you wear different company goggles with this helmet? What are some other goggles that would fit this helmet?
@ADayintheLifeofMr234 жыл бұрын
JOHN DOE I’m not too sure about any safety ratings. There aren’t any markings on the lenses or goggles themselves that would identify any safety specs. There used to be a little more info about the lenses on Rurocs website but when I just looked it appears to have very general generic info for all of the lenses. The helmet is VERY comfortable. I’ve worn it for about 1 hour continuously and could have easily worn it for another hour. I have yet to experience fogging. It really does appear these are fog proof! As far as other goggles I don’t believe any other companies would work. The face mask has to fit into some groves in the goggles so I don’t think you would get a correct fit with another companies goggles. Thanks for the comment and for checking it out! @ADayintheLifeofMr235 жыл бұрын
Chris the weight isn’t an issue at all. Of course you can feel it but it is very light weight. Field of vision is for sure an issue. Your peripheral vision is drastically cut down. I’d say looking down is the most blocked angle. You can still glance side to side and even up and still have a pretty good view without moving your head. But looking down you absolutely need to look down with your whole head. My favorite is the Spitfire although when I ordered it is was unavailable, so I got the Gargoyle XL/XXL everything fit until I applied the goggles, because of that thick foam it wouldnt nest back into the helmet correctly without leaving a big gap caused by my cheek bones exposing each side of my head on each side of my temples, I thought maybe of trimming it down with an exacto knife, but since it was new I sent it back, just wish they could make the goggles thinner in that area, if the foam liner wasn't so thick, it would have nested back into the helmet instead of on my cheek bones which stopped it from nesting correctly needless to say I was disappointed, has anyone you know Ever have similar problems and what did they do to remedy the problem? do you know how to get the vizor off?
@ADayintheLifeofMr233 жыл бұрын
It does take a little bit of care when doing. I’ve found if you’re too rough and just start pulling it wants the pull the whole mount out. If you have the helmet facing you where you can see under the visor where the release tab is, there are 2 plastic pieces that are sorta clips on both sides of the center release pin. What I do is use my thumb on the visor just behind the center release tab so that makes counter pressure on those side tabs and causes them to come down from the helmet just enough. As you do that push the release pin and pull the visor away. It sounds sorta complicated but it’s one swift motion. Look for the side tabs and give it a try. Once you know those are what’s keeping the visor from just releasing with the release pin it makes it a lot easier to understand how to take it off. Hope that was helpful! Thanks

That is a great question! I don’t think they are DOT certified tho. The atlas does seem quite a bit bulkier than these for sure. But I guess that makes sense so it can be safer. I haven’t seen a comparison of a ”normal” motorcycle helmet next to an atlas. But just from photos the atlas seems bulkier. I recently bought the RG1-DX Toxin design. I love that design! Which design did you get for your atlas 2.0??

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 I got toxin as well. İt is a great helmet. I just think Rg1-dx looks better

Can you wear this with eyeglasses?

Hello! I don’t wear eyeglasses but I was able to test it out with a pair of sunglasses. The goggles did fit over the glasses just fine. I imagine it would depend on the style of glasses you have but I think it’s safe to say if sunglasses fit then eyeglasses would too. Thanks for the comment!

Cool! Also, can this helmet be used for electric kick scooters and/or motorcycles? Considering that this was made for snowboarding

It has street certifications so it is good for skate and scooters. I use mine with an electric scooter and it works great! Your peripherals are cut down a lot but it’s something you can get used to really easily.

So i received my helmet and myhead measures 56cm i have hair afro and i wear glasses so i got a xl. The xl wiggles and moves around a little on my head when i move it and has a little weight is this a good thing or should i exchange for a medium? Is the medium shell smaller from the xl shell? The Xl feels like it is big i’m not sure about the sizes of the helmet would a medium fit?
