Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh) is a legendary swordsman, a hero in the wars preceding the turbulent fall of Japan’s Shogunate in the 19th century. Once feared as ‘Battosai the Killer’, with the arrival of the new Japanese age and nursing the pain of losing many of his companions he is now a lone wanderer, roaming the land seeking to be of service to those in need. Fate however, had taken hold of Kenshin’s future and was now guiding him toward a new destiny.
Without warning he is summoned by Home Minister Toshimichi Okubo (Kazufumi Miyazawa), and is informed that Makoto Shishio (Tatsuya Fujiwara), his successor in the service of the new government, believed to be dead, is in fact both alive and plotting in Kyoto. Driven by a burning revenge Shishio commands a private army of bloodthirsty mercenaries and is planning to overthrow the government and will stop at nothing to take control. In that moment it becomes clear why he has been summoned; Kenshin is the only man alive who can find Shishio… and stop him.
Kenshin must summon every warrior skill he possesses to fight dangerous and brutal enemies along fate’s journey; leading to the ultimate bloody confrontation… blade on blade, soul against soul.

wingsuiter101 Edge of Tomorrow lost some important themes from the novel like the old samurai expression 'kirioboeru' which means strike down your enemy and learn. And also how suffering it is to be isolated and reliving the same day on the battlefield with no way to escape the loop (even without dying).

My gooosh, this second installment!!! The parts where Kenshin's expression softens whenever he looks at Kaoru not wanting her to worry and then that breathtaking part where Hoji threatened to burn her... Kenshin's scream of "Yamero!!!!!" Waaaahhhhh I think I just melted in that moment!!!!! And yes, he doesn't want even a tiny, single scratch on her or else, the Battousai in him will be the one swinging that sword. Sato, impressive all the time!!!! Thank you Hollywood for the money and for not messing this up. Seriously.

This movie was AMAZING, saw it at the LA Eiga Fest. One of the reasons why is that the actors do their own stunts. Can't wait for the English subs to come out for Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen

orion beci It stay true to the anime some part they gotta skip it because the movie isnt long enough to fit all the detail for example sanosuke training or the part where maiso jump over the clip and couldn't make it. also we wont see kenshin master till some later part in the movie. The movie is extremly long which is good like about 2 and a half hour
