I can't believe how uderrated this movie is, compared on how popular it SHOULD be. The adrenaline, the drama, the tension, the feels... all encompassed by one of (IMO) Hans Zimmer's most outstanding works I remember when it came out in theaters, I watched it with my then girlfriend. During this whole last race sequence, we were clinging to each other's hands so hard, both at the edge of our seats unable to look away from the screen. When finally Hunt managed to win the championship, we actually cheered and jumped.

It’s important to remember that in real life, only 1 driver was willing to race that day (Jacky Ickx), and Lauda was one of 4 drivers, alongside Emerson Fittipaldi, Carlos Pace, and Larry Perkins, to retire perfectly healthy cars due to not being willing to take the risks involved. That’s how bad the conditions were that day.
