Seamus Slattery Most bands who play live do a 30 - 45 minute setlist. Rush do a 2 hours 30 minute setlist. 1 average song length: 3-4 minutes. 30 minutes x 5 = 2.5 hours 3 minute song x 5 = 15 minutes. So... hmm... maybe that isn't a lot of time in Rush's standards. ;)

I’ve seen many live Rush concerts dating back to 1978, and live performances on KZbin. This, in my opinion, is Rush at its absolute peak talent level. Geddy’s vocal range, bass tone, Neil’s power, timing, and speed, and Alex killing the solos - just absolute brilliance. Young, raw talent. It does not get better, just maybe a little more polished as they matured. Rush at its finest.

I was 13 years old and and saw them live in 76 in Houston Texas. The fucking Coliseum flooded and they had to quit early. What a fucking mind blowing experience. Then I saw them again the following year and when I thought my mind couldn't possibly be blown again, it was Cygnus X1 Book1 the Voyage, or something like that, that was unbelievable. 2112 is a masterpiece!

My musical world began with these songs back in the late 70's on All the Worlds a Stage double LP. So saddened to hear of Neil's passing wishing I knew him and he of me, then I remembered, Neil wrote all Rush's lyrics and realized he knew all of us and we knew a bit of him. He can certainly rest peacefully a complete man.

I'm sure you're right, or I hope so. I watched a Rush live concert in Houston in the 1980's, I believe it was after they released Power Windows, and I wasn't impressed until they played their older songs from 2112 and earlier. This NJ concert here on YoutTube is awesome. I wish I could have been there but I wouldn't have been of age anyway.

If there is one show I could ever go back in time just to see, it would be Rush in their prime. Unfortunately I never got the chance to see them at all, as I’m 27 and didn’t come to really appreciate them until recently when I got serious about my own guitar and bass playing. Each one of them are both intricate and powerful in their own right, yet complete eachother perfectly and are irreplaceable. They’re all lead players, and somehow it works flawlessly.

Saw rush in early 77. What a show. I started playing guitar when kiss alive came out. Aces licks were so bad ass. After seeing neil play drums. I had to learn those to. Been a good 45 years of jamming and still rocking to this day thanks to those two bands.

I cant tell you how many times I've listened to this song. It never gets old or stale. I've not seen any bands even attempt to play it.

currently reading Geddy Lee's book, My Effin Life, and remembering sneaking out to the Capitol in Passaic when I was 14. I think the ticket was $7. I felt like hearing them and found this footage, unbelievable that this exists. I'm covered in goosebumps and man, it holds up to time. What a band, what a song!!

When I read the news of Neil Peart's passing, I had to stop by and listen to this, and take a trip down memory lane. I was lucky enough to have seen "Rush" perform in Edmonton, when they were on their 2112 tour. It was a mind-blowing performance, that is still in my top 3 concerts of all-time. The world lost a musician, but rock and roll has lost an icon. R.I.P. Neil 🌹

1976, from a very small Texas town - never heard of Rush. Friends and I drove in to Houston Coliseum from the woods with our $10 concert tickets. Standing near front of stage, when Getty Lee started to sing. Again, we had never heard of Rush. On peyote and pot, that voice to us was craziness. Get this: Mountain opened, then Rush played, then Blue Oyster Cult. Ten bucks.
