I'd say do your edited thing, that's where your strength lies. Watching ~30 episodes that all need to be 45 minutes long isn't as appealing as 20 episodes, 20 minutes long imho. This will mean that later episodes will be more to the point instead of watching you build x100 of the same thing, because you're just scaling.
