I played trumpet for a bit before I gave up and chose clarinet. I learned how to double tongue on clarinet (and ofc you kinda have to find that balance b/w using the tip of your tongue and your whole tongue I found that using just below the tip was good for me. It might vary based on the preference and level of the player) and it was easy-ish. Was awkward as hell tho cause who tf likes the feel of the clarinet reed vibrating immensely on the tip of your tongue?PLUS because you're double tonguing on a reed instrument, as you said, the embouchure gotta stay tight so your jaw cramps up a lot when I was practicing this. On a funny note though, a few times I actually yawned in the middle of practicing the double-tonguing for so long cause my throat and jaw were so open (at the time I was just starting to practice) so it simulated the thing where you open your mouth for a while and after a few seconds you start to yawn xD very funni...

I think you put air into your mouth, you then close the back of your throat. You then meticulously use the air in your mouth while breathing through your nose. Once you run out of air, you need to replenish your mouth air with your lungs then restart the process. I don’t know if this is exactly how it works but it’s something like that. Didn’t know I’d be typing mouth air today
