There's only so much even a pro can do to make those horrible quality sopranos that are so often found in elementary schools actually sound good, but it doesn't take much for even a complete beginner to make a high quality plastic soprano sound good. Quality is definitely a bigger factor than the player's skill.

I love the irony that in order to play this decidedly *very* fast-paced song, it has to look like you're barely moving from mouth to jaw, so that it almost looks piped-in artificially, but in reality your diaphragm (and tongue) are begging for mercy the entire time. ^^' Great work!!

As a beginner recorder player myself (been playing for like a year), i've got to genuinely say that it's probably not the most underrated instrument in the world, but it definely makes it to top 5, they're hard to play at the beginning if you've got poor finger coordination or something, but if you ever get the chance to play a nice song on it, in some quiet place like your backyard when you're just by yourself, you're in for a good time Recorders, especially those fancy wooden ones, sound beautiful in the right hands and scenario

I've never played a wind instrument before, but I can only imagine how fast the tongue and breathing has to be to do this... great annunciation and great job! P.S. as a pianist, I strive for that staccato so hard... Edit: I play cello as well at a beginner level, and the first annunciation i learned was a stacatto. While it's more bouncy, it's a different feeling than a normal stacatto, anyone notice that?

Lol I’ve always told people that the recorder sounds beautiful if played right. The people who say it’s bad are usually the one’s whose instrument squeaks on every note.

I find it has the reputation of being too simple, or a “kid’s instrument”. Mostly because they teach it in a lot of grade schools. Same with xylophones. At least, that’s how I felt until I saw people shred on both of them lol
