Nah bro, that's how it works in the martial arts world. Every style has the fundamentals and proper form. The rest are the personality you give it when you apply techniques to meet certain needs. That's why you have such variation of execution for each art. Personally, I was never taught to show your back to the opponent, but I know other practitioners like to add twists as it opens up a low sweep or maybe an ankle lock, or a hand strike like what they picture here. That Twisting Tiger with the spiraling hands is actually a very prominent Jackie Chan technique that not a lot of other martial arts actors use. It looks like a blend of Wushu and Wing Chun. It's something I almost always look for in a Jackie Chan movie (he didn't do it in The Foreigner as far as I remember, though).

Don Cheadle spoke better Cantonese than the other Hollywood actors of the next 20 years. The guy clearly put in effort to get the intonation right. Mad respect to him
@Whatchamawhozit Жыл бұрын
For those who don't know, Don Cheadle takes his craft very seriously, if he agrees to a role, he puts in the same effort whether it is large or small. He said he would do the scene but there were 2 stipulations, he learned chinese and spoke with the proper dialect, and when he fought Jackie he didn't lose or win. He did this for a small cameo fee and .25 percent of the gross profits
@nishihundan1257 Жыл бұрын
Getting .25 points for a cameo? That sounds like completely made up BS.

For a cameo before he was even big? I find that hard to believe. His only two big time credits up to this point are colors in 88 and boogie nights in 97. He didn’t become big until a few years after this.

@@TonyDanza4Lyfe This is a Brett Ratner film, and they had worked together previously in “The Family Man”.
