Weeeellll, Rush did spend a lot of time on the road with Kiss in the mid 70s as their support act, so I suspect he saw Ace in less than stellar condition on more than one occasion.

i actually met alex lifeson once on the street. i didnt know who he was at the time. he had me laughing my ass off within a minute, then later a friend i was with told me "you know that crazy guy we bumped into, that was a member of the band rush" i was like "really? that guys a rock star?" just seemed like a very freindy,very fun, ordinary guy. i should have guessed from the 3,000 dollar suit and the gold mercedes oh, and he was actually driving around town with a guitar in his lapp as he drove
