I listened to Rush for a few short days back in '88 or '89. I instantly knew he was right. Through 30 years, he never failed. Ups and downs, he consistently told us the truth. God knows, I still cry for the loss of this man. May God hold him and let him know he was loved, respected and made a huge mark on millions of lives. Love you Rushi!

@@richardsherburne6889Rush never lied about anything. That's the world you live in. I wouldn't be speaking for God if I were you. Especially when you are lying. God plainly tells us not to take His name in vain. Most people think that is meant as not putting God's name in front of a curse word, but that command from God has a deeper meaning. Taking God's name in vain is when a person invokes the name of God and associates it with a falsehood in His name. Rush Limbaugh was a great great person. If you are going to speak disparaging about him, you need to leave. If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked you for it.

Nope, Limbaugh referred to himself as such in his early interviews in the early 90s to sell himself to the media as a man who struggled and didn't have anything handed to him. His dad owned the station and was later an investor and gave him a job at age 16.

Radio treated all music jocks like crap. If not now, just wait your turn. You can have a bad GM, bad PD, bad ratings, not get along well with others, I was even overpaid a few times and got that tossed in my face a few times. Just have to have a tough skin. Back in the music jock days, jocks were a lot more dime a dozen than a talk show host, or music morning show host with a following.

Because he is/was "Jimbo" (the Lizzard King who can do anything) and became "El Rushbo" for the man. He talked fast so nobody was the wiser. There are hints that come through. Way too many coincidences. Jim could do any accent. IQ = 149. He wanted to play the host at interviews while in the Doors. He could flip the script on anyone, and often did. He said in a 1969 interview with Howard at The Village Voice of NYC that while he enjoyed the Doors, he desired to play a role of a fat conservative who the nation would "love to hate" just like his band at the time. Very interesting and dynamic character. Extremely well read. No doubt he was a high value agent.

Big surprise to me -- he SOUNDS GREAT !! I personally had a brief career like Rush did - the DJ marketplace was intensely competitive, and you could be fired for virtually ANYTHING at ANY time. So I know how tough it was, and how POORLY paid, too. (It was mostly about flash, the great music & the chicks.) Rush's hero was Larry Lujack at WLS in Chicago, already a legend. The P.D. there was John Rook, who met Rush once and thought he was mediocre. Maybe he just didn't fit Rook's notion of what HE wanted at the Big 89? (Because I'd heard this, I'd formed a mental image of mediocrity, too, regardless of how great he turned out later as a Talk radio commentator.) Too bad we find all this out AFTER Rush is gone !!
