A lot of bands have a "touring life" song. This is easily my favorite deep RUSH cut!

There's a treasure trove of Rush songs...but you've GOT to listen to Headlong Flight. Such a great song.

Nice one! You can hear the bands optimism in this song. Their career in music is starting to come together. I think you would enjoy Geddy's new book My Effin Life. Geddy said he wanted to write it before he forgot a lot of things. I understand that one as I am the same age as Geddy at 70. (Geddy just turned 71). Cheers 🇨🇦 ❤

I finished My Effin Life a week ago...this book had me laughing out loud and crying, especially the end of the book.

This was before Neil added the high pitched concert toms to his kit - you may notice he did all low end fills. The next album (Caress of Steel) - he shows off the concert toms

A good old Rush song. L guess I like it so much because of the acoustic guitar. Some nice guitar work by Alex too.

I love DIRE STRAITS and just Mark K so when I heard RUSH -- they fit right in. Good stuff!

Wow, this is a very deep cut. Good tune that I have not heard in many years, I love the production on this album it's very present and it doesn't sound all that dated to me. Also, as a side note..... I like your commentary

The sentiments in this song were not something Neil would have agreed with as he was the least happiest of the band having to be on the road touring all the time. Although the band did improve their chops greatly from playing so much live.

The touring is what grew their loyal fanbase too.

They wouldn't have survived as a band if they hadn't toured as much as they did. They had no hit singles back then so the royalties were modest. Their record sales picked up after 2112, but before that, they had to rely on touring revenues and I am sure that once everyone on payroll has been paid, (the publicists, the tour managers, the promoters, the stage technicians, the sound team, the road crew) the musicians would get whatever trickles down after that, so it must have been a daunting business touring like that and barely breaking even!
