The No One At the Bridge section is one of the best pieces of music in their entire collection imo…the guitar solo is haunting and Geddy’s vocals are amazing

This is the song that made me a lifelong fan. I first heard it in 1975 & I was hooked. Caress Of Steel is their 3rd studio album and the first album that I bought as a 16 year old. I am now 66 & I still get goosebumps when I hear this song……..over 40 years later. Awesome choice. You should also listen to The Necromancer from the same album.

Niels drum Solo he's retained that level of speed all the way to the very last drum solo R.I.P. Neil. the first image of rush was this lp cover in the seventies didn't hear it until 1977 or 1978 great insights u have for a young person, glad you allow your mind for expansion that rush can give even back at the beginning's great reaction

I member when i got my “authentic” cassette of this from a flea market stall that specialized in “completely legitimate” cassette tapes. Wonderful.

I hope you are doing the last sections, Panacea, Bacchus Plateau, and The Fountain. The whole piece is a kind of template of a complete life cycle, from birth to death.(Neil wasn't going to tackle somethng easy, lol!!) There is an end goal, a thing to aspire to, but for many of us, it is elusive. It is ironic that we can spend our whole lives trying to understand ourselves and tbe world around us, and just when the answer is withn our grasp, it is time to check out, lol!! This had an impact on me as a young teen, with my whole life in front of me, now most of it is behind and I find myself at Bacchus Plateau, with no regrets, still hoping I can do something meaningful before the end, which is coming fast. If I go out before any "meaning' can be grasped, so be it. At this stage of life one becomes impartial to winning or losing, it just doesn't matter anymore, one just jogs the last few miles and then hope youve still got a few marbles left at the end!!

A didact is a teacher and narpets is, of course, an anagram of the word “parents”. The words in this section represent (IMO) those authority figures (first part of each pair of terms) providing instruction. The second part of each pair of terms is the rebellious teen’s response. Again, this is my interpretation of this section.

@@leehammel691 I always took it as the kids being the addicts, Alex particularly if you have seen the videos of him describing how much he wanted to play the guitar to the exclusion of anything else and arguing with his parents about it. Maybe that is just me though.
