Always Present... Always There... NEVER mailing it in... Rush!! I saw Rush live 6 times (1986, 1990, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2015) and NOT once did I see or hear them 'going through the motions'. They gave 100% EVERY TIME! I MISS FK'N RUSH!!

Happiest of birthdays! always loved this song. the bass line, the lyrics...it really hit home in 1988 while going thru morse code school for the Marines. Doing allot of running and more than a Finish line and more than dotted line more than just a dash always struck me. Watching Geddy sing, play bass , keyboards and pedals all at the same time.....incredible. Alex did some backing vocals on this one as well back during the '88 Show of Hands tour. The Clockwork Angles tour they had real strings playing along. One of Alex's solos as well. great reaction.

First of all, Happy Birthday Neighbor! I was having a pretty crappy day at work today. So this afternoon I cranked up some Rush really loud. Rush has always put me in an amazing mood. I always loved when they played this song live. I was there the night they filmed this video, but my favorite performance of this song was way back in 1986. It was the Power Windows Tour. Their special effects back then were really awesome. They want especially crazy with the laser light show.

When I saw Rush play Marathon on the Power Windows tour (January 1986 in Dallas), they had a laser guy running on the screen behind them. When it came to the big ending, he turned from a running man into an orchestra conductor, 17 yr old me totally geeked out on that!

A very happy birthday to you. This is an excellent way to celebrate, having all your Rush fans joining you in order to listen to one of their best songs. For your own pleasure, look up their performance of this song during their "Show of Hands" tour, which was in 1988 if I remember correctly. The animation they play on the background screen is great and this also took place when Geddy was in a short lived unfortunate hair style phase.

Every time I run a marathon, and I've done more than a dozen at this point, I think of the lyrics of this song as song point. Usually, something like "it's not how fast you can go, the force goes into the flow". I'm slow, but endurance is the key here.

Happy Birthday 💕 That was a real birthday treat for you! 🎂 You do whatever you want, it's your channel but don't feel like you have to go live if you'd rather not, you can always do premieres don't forget. You could always react to the day's songs and upload them all as one big video as a premiere for example. That would allow for a good half hour chat and not get any copyright problems or dangers of a strike for your channel as I know some channels have had problems with music live. Wasn't it Cliff Beats that had loads of hassle with that, might have been someone else but I think it was him. Anyway, just an idea. You do you. 😊

Happy Birthday! I'm really loving all of your RUSH reaction videos. As someone who ran track and cross-country in school, this song hits so deep, and I've always loved that double key change they do at the end. Just so epic! It also brings a tear to my eye though. My uncle introduced me to Rush (his favorite band of all time) back around 2006-07ish, and we got to see them together on the Snakes & Arrows tour in 2008, the Clockwork Angels tour in 2012, and the R40 tour in 2015. Priceless experiences. My uncle passed away in Dec of 2020 at the age of 53, so now listening to Rush is even more of an emotional experience. I love the memories but it still makes me sad.

I recommend, in your own time, watching the Clockwork Angels live from Dallas Blu-ray. Watch the pre show and warm up all the way through to after Neil dashes from the stage to get away in his bus. I’m a grown ass man. But when they are about to take the stage and the house lights go out, yeah I get teary eyed. Everyone knows that feeling when the house lights go out at a Rush show. And now when I watch it I know I’ll never have that again. So that show in that video holds an ultimate place for me. Yes R40 was just a treat fry the fans in a spectacular concept. But the supporting tour of their penultimate magnum opus album will always make me proud to be a Rush fan. And I know redhead neighbor will love seeing Alex in the Analog Kid .

Years after the fact, I learned that an old schoolmate of mine…. Her mom was a French teacher. She worked for a certain unnamed education course system. ( I learned all this way after the fact ok. And I was not a Rush fan at the time….. bare with me. ) she told me that one day her mom told her “ rock stars are coming to the house tonight to learn some French while they are touring. So be prepared.” Yes, those rock stars were Rush. They would stop at certain locations while traversing the country to take French lessons. They stopped at her house quite a few times. I had been to her house. I knew the neighborhood. I found this out at a school reunion one day. Oh my god. She a sad id the first time the guys came, they were expecting ROCK STARS. She told me the guys were the nicest, most polite gentlemen she’d ever met. She a said that Neil would sit alone in a separate part of the house just reading during breaks. She said that Alex was the funniest person she had ever met. While she told me this my jaw was scraping the ground. 😳😳😳😳😳 The only brush I had with them was for the Clockwork Angels tour. The day of the show I went to work as usual , but when I merged into the highway I had to do so by merging into the bus caravan of the band and crew on the way downtown coming from Detroit. Bud I guess her story is good too. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
