This performance was from 2002. Vapor Trails was their first album after their five year hiatus after Neil Peart lost his daughter in a car accident and his wife to cancer in the same year. One Little Victory was a song to celebrate their reunion. It was Alex that suggested that the song start off with Neil's drumming to celebrate his return. There is a really good documentary called the boys in Brazil about their tour there. I think you would really enjoy it. Banger song! 🔥🔥🔥

This concert almost never went off, it rained right up until showtime and they had tons of electrical issues to deal with but the road crew kicked ass and this turned out to be one of their best concerts. 😊

Love your Rush reactions. You really get them. As others mentioned, this was after Neil lost his wife and daughter. The band went on hiatus for 5 years. We never thought they would get back together. Then it was, does Neil still have IT? Well, that drum intro was his way of telling the fans, “yes I do! And I’m actually better than before! In fact, his drumming was top notch and imo he peaked on their last album, Clockwork Angels. It’s stunning! Most long running bands live off their earlier work. They might have a few new tracks along the way, but they are never even close to their earlier works. Rush was different. Amazing!!!

I was lucky enough to see them 5 times live from the 80's through the 2000's, and they never disappointed. I've attended many concerts in my 57 years but they are still the only band I have seen more than twice.

This was track one of Vapor Trails, their first album after a 5 year hiatus...NP essentially had to relearn how to play drums...one little victory at a time. RIP Professor 🙏

Saw them a few times on this tour. We were at the 2nd show of the tour in Buffalo. I forget what row, but we were pretty close. Right before the wall of fire went off, we could smell propane. Then there it was. Total surprise. I had to check to make sure my eye brows were still there. After the 5 years leading up to this, One Little Victory for sure.

Another performance from this show that you may like is of their song Ghost Rider, also from Vapor Trails, which was based on the healing journey that Neil took after his wife and daughter died; he was also a best-selling author, and he wrote a book of the same title describing his journey, which will take your breath away. Rest in peace Professor. 🥁 🥁 🐐 🐐

Yes, Ghost Rider is wonderful. It is also the hardest read I've ever worked through. Worth the effort!

first song on first album after Neil's tragedy and hiatus - coming back with 'fire' as you would say Rory and a little victory in that until that point (5 years) they thought it might be all over.. we now know it wasn't and they did another 3 albums and numerous world tours

Great concert opener. Some resemblances to Collective Soul (it was the 90's), but in a Rush way.

They didn't sound like they hadn't played together for 5 years. The lyrics kinda tell the tale of Neil's feelings as he recovered from the loss of his daughter and wife.
