When I was discovering Progressive Rock, Rush really got my attention, and Neil quickly became a huge influence on me.
One of the coolest aspects of Neil's drumming, in my opinion, is the way he approached his drum parts for the music of Rush. It's pretty clear that each note was placed carefully, always concerned of not repeating the exact same grooves or fills throughout a composition, creating a fluid journey from the beginning to the end of a song.
Here's my interpretation of one of my favorite Rush songs: Subdivisions! I was not concerned about playing exactly like Neil, some of the fills might be a little different here and there. Every drummer will always sound different from each other, so here's how I sound playing this amazing tune!
