Without a doubt my favorite version of The Trees. It's got it all: A nice, serene intro with Broon's Bane, a hypnotic ending solo, and every rocking bit from the original in between!

Yes, my favorite version as it was the first time hearing. Also brought me on a life long journey of Mr Neil Pearts writings

I am actually on the cover of the Rush, Exit Stage Left album cover. Look right next to the ladies dress on the cover, and there I am working security (white T-shirt, red sleeves). I worked center stage security for concerts in Buffalo NY back in '81 and saw these guys live. My job was to stand center stage (in front of the stage) and make sure no one tried to hop up on stage. Worked 125+ concerts. No one was closer to the band than I was at these concerts, just a few feet away, sometimes just 3 feet. ... AHHH the memories.

as a buffalo native its cool to know that the picture for the album was taken at a local venue (albeit a venue that no longer exists)

@@robertpinazza4043 - No, those are defo cowbells and agogo-bells from 4:58 onwards. The woodblocks can be heard in the intro of 'Xanadu', though :-)

Absolutely epic. Must listen B2B with Xanadu *on this album* for proper effect. Captures the essence of 70's fantasy culture scene.

I used to fall asleep to side #2 of the cassette every night as a teenager. Now at 53... when I listen to it I remember how great life was back then . Time went by so slowly & a summer would last a life time. I've seen RUSH... #4 Times in concert and they have delivered the goods... except the last time we saw them in Atlanta.... Both myself and my wife were shocked to see them phoning it in. Not worth the money. It's sad because Neil died like 2 years later and it literally was one of the worst shows I've ever seen....and I've been to over 200 concerts. The other 3 times we saw them they were Fabolous. Especially the ROLL THE BONES TOUR. My wife and I were 1st row of the balcony , with no one in front of us .They litterly played one of the best shows I've ever seen. FUCKING MIND BLOWING!!! The TREES is one of my favorite RUSH songs , and I personally think that RUSH'S SIGINALS is one of the top 10 CD"s ever made. The #10 CD"s that you could have on a desert island and no other music. SIGNALS.....JUST ROCKS FROM THE OPENING SONG TO THE LAST. & I THINK ITS THERE BEST WORK. EXIT... STAGE LEFT....is a close second.

GUYS The good thing about Broon´s Bane is that you need to listen and play on your guitar the rest of this masterpiece TOGETHER with THE TREES. Why Rush does not play like this always is a mistery to me. Afraid of classical music maybe.
