Ryan you played this perfectly! Great work! 👍🏻🤘🏻😊 by the way I loved the extra playing at the end of the song around the kit! It’s hard to not want to play everything on a big kit! 😊😊😉Especially the chimes at the end 😂😂😂!

This is a compliment and I don't mean this in a bad way... IMO You have BETTER technique than Neil Peart did... I loved his playing, but you have better hands. Don't shoot the messenger, he was the man, but you are like a more relaxed and non stiff version of the man himself (and I am a Neil Peart fan).

you know when you hear someone cover a band you like and you hear it just "fall flat" ??? even when they are technically great??? well that didn't happen here. I mean I am not hearing "Rush" play this song but I AM HEARING RUSH!!! this guy gets the songs!!! he understands the feeling, the accents, the vibe, the energy.. the whole point. he gets it all.. and I can fully recognize that the entire time.. even if he isn't exactly "Neil Peart" -- whatever.. who cares, you are certainly playing the songs CORRECTLY!!! I mean I'm thinking you're doing better than Peart does when he had just come off a long bike ride and a break.. and that's saying a lot because he wrote the parts... that's just crazy.

You playing the 16th notes on your hi-hat with the butt of your stick is making my forearms hurt just watching. Impressive, nonetheless.

Honestly I don't find it much harder than playing tip end out. At least on hats. I'm playing on the bow of the top cymbal for 90% of this performance, and the butt end means I still get a fat sound. Ride cymbal can be brutal though...
@curious_pleb007 Жыл бұрын
@@masecardrums Pretty cool! I just need to build my chops up to be able to get through the whole song without cramping up 😂

Of course, the more you practice, the better you get! But I also recommend looking at Todd Sucherman's in/out hihat technique - it's essentially the technique I'm using to stay relaxed at these sorts of tempos. But, again, not on the ride haha
