Same, the metro, the classic and the largest one. Most people in Wellington use blunt umbrellas because it is a windy City, and the rain can go sideways because of it lol. It's the only umbrella that can handle the winds here.

I never knew the importance of a sturdy umbrella until i was in Istanbul 2 weeks ago...it was a strong windy day and i saw several people frustrated and threw their broken umbrella on the streets... my cheap compact umbrella bought in Barcelona broke too

I saw the Blunt website used to have a separate 2019 version of the metro, do you know the difference between that one and the one they are selling now?

Never heard about Blunt, but around 7 years ago a throw wind inverted my last umbrella that had held for many many years... after that I got a Senz, which is a storm umbrella, so far, its held up great in any winds during the last 7 years. Including storms. Except for tension, they also make use more of an airfoil design as well as have a cutout on the frontside so they don't obscure vision. So being one of the known good storm umbrellas, any newcomer on the market should be compared to Senz before I would even take a look at them. They are also tested in wind tunnels beyond 100km/h. They look funky, but work well. Would have loved to see more of a deep-dive from this review to compare it to a known good umbrella. If they are even remotely close to them, they would be easy to recommend in a heartbeat. Blunt does seem to have a more classical shape, while the angular Senz can be seen as slightly odd.

Well disagree.. I had a Senz umbrella, couldn't even hold a simple storm in the Netherlands, wasted 40 bucks for nothing..

@@orno6621 Which model was it, the small very portable one, or the larger one with a fixed core, I have the XXL so its one of the larger ones, a friend of mine has the smaller foldable one which isn't rated for as much wind, but for him it has held up fine. But if it didn't hold up, they have a 2+1 year warranty so at least you get a new one for free.

I am trying to decide between the Blunt Metro and the Coupe. I am concerned about the Quick Release button on the Metro, as I had another umbrella with this button that broke the day after I bought it. I am confused because in the video you write that this button opens the canopy, but it appears that it just lengthens the umbrella rod. Can you please clarify?

Winds here in the Philippines are merciless right now, I positioned my umbrella toward the wind so it wont be turned inside out but then the wind blowed on the opposite direction! It felt like strong waves on the shore! It will slap you in the face then pull you ahahaha

you didn't cover whether or not the metro also collapses with a button release... pretty important feature to cover. it looked like a button press does open automatically however but you didn't make that definitive either.

For the Blunt Metro Compact Umbrella, with its 39 inches coverage when open, is designed primarily to provide adequate protection for an individual from rain. While it offers a decent coverage area, it may not provide sufficient coverage to shield both an individual and a backpack from rain simultaneously.

I bought a Metro and a Sport. The Sport broke the first day I used it, inverting two times at the beach. Warranty replaced, so that was cool. The warranty replacement Sport also broke on the first use at the golf course. Absolutely pathetic. The Metro inverts all the time, but hasn't failed yet. To bad it's not big enough to protect multiple people.

there's about 500 other umbrellas that cost a fraction of this, including rounded corner ones... part of making a good product is being able to get it to people for a reasonable price, $100 for an item that averages about $10 is a little excessive imo.

@@frankbooth1298 Well generally speaking there’s a sweet spot price for products when it comes to well made and durable where spending more likely results in an inferior “luxury” or “designer” product, for instance jeans and clothes are notorious for this, where the highest priced items are poorly made and not durable and just cost lots of money to make with rare or light materials or similar, or worse are identical to other products with simply a highly advertised name attached. German products also have a reputation to be over engineered to a point they’re inferior and less durable but simply cost more to make. I went with a $20 Amazon umbrella with a light on the bottom, used maybe a dozen times now a couple of times in very windy conditions and had no issues. If money was no object I’d maybe want a super light luxury umbrella but from what I can tell the durability aspect isn’t where the moneys going for $100+ umbrellas, that’s luxury/weight/name territory.

An umbrella review without testing it yourself? Really? And the problem with umbrellas in the wind is flipping/inverting. Blowing wind at the top of the umbrella doesn’t address the flipping issue in windy situations. This review is pretty useless.
