The White Tower is in fact unique as the only Castle Age keep landmark. That's also why it used to have no further special traits until it got buffed with the 100% production speed increase. Up until that point just being a keep landmark in the Castle Age was literally the only thing that made it special.

spearmen is actually the best unit. No gold. inbuilt siege damage (masses of torch throwers). counters siege and keeps/towers. Neutral against crossbow but actually counters it because no gold was spent. Can outpace its maa counter unit. Spearmen is the most versatile of the generic units.

If you have watched his many FFA videos then you know he doesn't give a crap about cursing or censoring. If he was such a victim of KZbin's censorship his channel would've been long gone for saying the F word 326 times during his FFA videos ( F pathing, F walls, F vills on wood, F opponent for attacking him while he wants to boom etc.). But he knows that his real bread and butter is his 1v1 casted videos and wants to portray a good boy image to the majority of his viewers. In short he's just being ingenuine.

Im assuming Purple thought he was going to face mass knight + crossbow, so he wanted to counter that with spearmen and horsemen + crossbow and some archers but instead he completely did not realize that Kiljardi was all inning on the wynguard footmen... which literally destroy horsemen in particular and spearmen also get crushed harder than MAA crush spearmen. Im sure Kiljardi did this with intention, it was such a brutal 1-sided final skirmish !

@AussieDrongo Two things. 1. There isn't any other Castle Age Keep. 2. Imo, the reason Ottomans are busted is bc they're the only civ that gets free sieze in Castle Age. I think, for ottomans, just flipping MIA and Sea Gate Castle's ages would super easily fix the civ instead of all the other "complicated" timing things they are doing.

Still don’t know if I prefer Wynguard or Berkshire in 2v2. The Berkshire is handy off to the side of the map to protect trade if stalemated, or my farm boom. Then use all that gold to spam regular chad MAA. Wouldn’t the footmen get countered heavy by crossbows? People will learn to play better against them.

not at expensive as youd think though ! You get 6 footmen for 300 food and 400 gold, so each footman is 50 food and 67 gold, whereas MAA are 100 food and 20 gold and Knights are 140 food and 100 gold .

@@gallantk8581 yes but Maa cost 1/3 of the gold, and Food is very very cheap for English at Imperial Age, idk how could u even compare this gross numbers and suggest such a thing

@@gallantk8581 It's an insanely high gold cost for units that lose to both armored units and siege prevalent in Castle and Imperial, while also losing to anti-armor units. You need the units to cost more food instead of more gold since food is in abundance at that point due to farms and gold becomes more and more limited. Also when Wyngard goes up you need a ton of gold for Imperial Age Elite upgrades for your units, university techs and eco techs.

Guys I have question I wanna build a 2nd tc I usually get 200 gold before my landmark finishes and research special pickaxe and double broad axe should I instead research wheelbarrow instead or just don't gather 200 gold and go straight to resources?

Broadsheet is always good but unless specialized pick isn't a good one to get early imo. Watch Age of Noobs vids on tech gather bonuses, you're generally focusing more on wood/food after aging up, so getting early mining bonus takes a long time to make its cost back.

I like to imagine heavy ranged cavalry some times. Countered by crossbow, spears, and horsemen? LMAO. Suffering to field. Heavy ranged infantry would almost be as depressing as a unit class, but because of that I want to see a heavy ranged infantry that actually is worth your time. As for the best unit class.... That's tough because you can look at it from what percentage of builds counter it, but that's not right because many army compositions counter the units that are good for raiding. If you look at raiding potential, a lot of great raiders still get death pushed by cheap infantry death ball combos. Ranged units are decent at raiding and are mostly countered by low dps units until castle age, but we haven't seen the arb meta after how many years? The low durability makes it so even 4x increased strength ranged units still need support. So clearly the strongest base unit class is something cracked up. You know if you had no sheep every game you would be pretty far behind no matter how you adapted. Could scouts be the strongest unit class? (This is a joke.)

@@codiserville593 One potential option is that the wealthiest units in the old mali empires army were high nobles known as the Ton Tigi (Quiver masters, the bow retainers yada yada. I've seen crazy translations that call these high nobles slaves but that doesn't really make sense.) The bow was apparently a symbol of the empires strength, so in turn it was also a big weapon of honor there. They have the gimmicks to make it work: Exaggerated poison, good anti-ranged infantry to support them, and the like.
