Tim: "I don't allow anyone who is not in the arena with me critique me" Me: If you are a Christian then we are in the same arena, bro. The Holy Spirit has given us the authority call out brothers/sisters who are out of line. I don't care what Brene Brown or Roosevelt said. I'm hoping you didn't "stop being a Christian" when you became a podcaster. If not then I hope you understand that God trumps the pod.

@Ruslan KD I believe insight can come from anyone, anywhere. Obv, not every comment is serious, but if one has experience with that profession, they would have insights and would like to share them even if it's through the comment section. I don't think every opinion should be dismissed just cuz it's from the "comment section" sometimes, it's the only way to reach out.

What is authority, and who does it come thru is big question! Elisha had Elijah, Joshua had Moses, John the baptister's followers had John. The Holy Spirit gives the power thru others to empower us to be covered and accountable. Dominion and authority is available and is not just handed out. The kingdom of God is about order, and if we step out of line, the covering is there to make sure we are restored. So true kingdom authority is not recognized without counsel and leadership above you.

Got a lot of love and respect for Tim but honestly when it comes to what Tim has set his mind as right whether it be on Mike or cursing or other questionable subjects he’s spoke on or preached he gets very defensive and closed minded. Want to support this guy but I gotta say there’s just a lot going on with him that’s spiritually concerning and you’d have to be spiritually blind to not see this recently from him. Praying for him and all that follow him 🙏🏾

Could you point to where Tim got defensive? Genuinely asking. I also want to say, just because someone comes to a different conclusion than you (this is a general "you"), it does not necessarily mean they're close-minded or defensive nor does it mean they're spiritually blind. It could just mean that two people disagree and sometimes we can leave it at that.
@chanon.arthur
@chanon.arthur Жыл бұрын
@Mere Greene no...sometimes you have to point things out to protect the people. Paul points out and corrects those who went out of line. Not saying that Tim is a false preacher but he has to be able to take correction from his fellow brothers in Christ and seek to go back in line with correct doctrine else he will cause many to stumble and impact lives in a negative way. That is why Peter said not many of you should become preachers ciz there is a harsher punishment if you offend or cause God's people to stumble

@@Mere...Greene I'm responding to the latter part of your message where you mentioned "just because someone comes to a different conclusion ot doesn't mean they close minded or defensive and you can simply agree to disagree and leave it that" I'm saying as a brother in Christ, you don't just gloss over a "different conclusion" especially if it's something extremely misleading. Look at what Paul said to Peter, "But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified" Galatians 2:11‭-‬16 KJV So you can't say that you could simply disagree and move on, you have to know when to correct as well especially if they start going way left with what they are teaching

Just what Tim said about people calling him out, confirmed it for me. Exactly why churches have an elder or a deacon board. You have to have someone you are accountable to. On a podcast Tim is beholden to no one. Why didn't Tim cuss in church? Cause he wouldn't have anyone in the crowd. And if you're not as popular as him or "cool" as he is, then don't call him out. Only Tom Brady can critique Tony Romo. Can Ruslan critique Tim? Does he have the clout Tim does? Whats the standard for these guys. They want your Patreon and your money, but don't question them. And Tim comparing himself to Paul? He ain't Paul, not even close. Guarantee you Tim's numbers go down, player won't cuss online anymore.

@@lilone11586 Totally hear what you're saying. That little snippet rubbed me wrong because I do feel that pastors are accountable to their parish or their church body. If not then who are they accountable to? The Lord? They obviously aren't accountable to him when they say the Lord told them it was ok to curse on his podcast. Thats a joke and we all know it. Does he curse around his grandmother? Doubtful... Would he curse around the President of the US in the presence of the Lord? Well he would cause he said Jesus told him it was ok to curse. I think he does it to push buttons and be the "cool" pastor. All in all, I feel like pastors should be held to a higher standard or why have anyone pastor or lead you? To dispute your point, when I was becoming a new Christian after having lived a life full of trials, Tim was the person who genuinely helped me come to Christ the most. The reason for this is because I and others need to see Christians that are relatable in order for us to learn more about the word and connect. I am a social worker who has provided therapy to the kids locked up in San Diego, and I have 100% been a vessel for God working through me to bring those kids into a relationship with him. In order to do this, I used swear words all the time, as this helped me connect with the kids and form a relationship that in turn helped me spread the word to them. Too many times in the Christian community we make people feel like they are walking on eggshells and are unable to be themselves, but many people need those who are relatable. This is not to say that we shouldn't hold ourselves to a standard, but I can honestly tell you Tim swearing(just being his authentic self) actually made him more relatable to me and helped me tremendously in my Christian walk.

So a male or female who is attracted to the same sex is not a sin… attraction means desire, just like lust means a strong sexual desire for someone. Matthew 5:28, Jesus said if someone lust (strong desire) after a woman in his heart has already sin. Now you guys saying as a married man if I desire another woman in my heart, as long as I don’t act on it I don’t sin. That’s crazy
@ashleywilliams1988

Scripture goes to great length to delineate temptation and sin. If we don’t make that proper distinction, all the dominos fall (Jesus was tempted, yet without sin). So there is a category that exists where one can be tempted towards a given person or action that precedes sin. When it comes to homosexuality, I don’t believe having an attraction to the same sex is sin. That would mean that even a celibate, faithful Christian is in perpetual, active sin. I don’t see a category of such a Christian in scripture. And yet there are Christians who love Jesus and submit wholly to his biblical sexual ethic, and yet still experience attraction to the same sec (Jackie Hill Perry is a good known example of this. She maintains that she is still attracted to women). To use your example, surely you notice when a woman is attractive, no? How could you not? I notice when a plate of fried chicken is attractive! But there is something in the middle between noticing someone, being attracted to them, and lust/sin. The category of temptation has to remain or we collapse the sinlessness of Jesus.

Sin by definition means missing the mark, error, so regardless of our feelings, the bible is clear what error or sin is and we are NOT at liberty to redefine it. To even be attracted to anyone of the same sex is error, to err, thus it is sin. God doesn't need us to push boundaries or be a great orator to reach people He's sent us to reach. Timing prevented response, but I think we do have some potential insight as to why he is so comfortable making those statements from the pulpit. He became over-sexualized at a very early age and that trauma can show up in mysterious ways even when the person thinks they are healed. May or may not be the case- but approaching this with empathy I can’t help but wonder if there is a connection and if this is a prayer point.

That’s fair. I think he was specifically sharing about being misunderstood by folks who perhaps aren’t being charitable and trying to understand. But I get what you’re saying. From my experience, I try and be very CLEAR about why I have certain conversations. And I guarantee there will be people in this comment misunderstanding a conversation as a full endorsement. Perhaps that’s the type of misunderstanding he was getting at it. It seems willful. As in intentionally mis representing someone. Fair?

I pray for Tim Ross and Mike Todd but my spirit can’t recurve from them their message is a bit of scripture and a lot of secular. I just don’t understand why he’s on the show… is it because he’s popular because I don’t consider him a righteous man. My younger siblings pointed out the errors in his messages. Seems Ruslan only calls out people who he doesn’t bump elbows with praying for Ruslan too. I think on my journey of seeking the word of God I have to filter what I expose myself too. As much as I try to connect with Christian creators, I sometimes find it hard once they reach a certain lever of “fame?”. But I’m going to end my disagreements/judgments and leave with this Titus 3:9: "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and contentions and strivings about the law, for they are unprofitable and vain.” There’s no need to go back and forth with Tim or those you feel are bordering blasphemy (not saying that he or they ARE, but you get it). He thinks he’s right therefore arguing is for our benefit to say we were “right”. It has zero benefit to the effectiveness of the kingdom. Therefore we pray for him and let God finish his perfect work in us all. Love yall. Continue to follow light.

My dad explains it like this. When I was a kid. God gave us 70,000 words to express ourselves. And occasionally the cuss word is the one that first. Most of the time it isn’t. If it’s excessive that’s a lack of using the vocabulary God gave us. I think this is the right mindset to go by.

the Bible commands teachers/leaders to be above reproach. its literally that simple. this isn’t a hard concept to grasp so the mental gymnastics to defend cussing especially as a pastor on a public platform under the guise of “trying to get an understanding” and “grace” is so frustrating. the “Christian” church today would be unrecognizable to the church of the Bible, and quite frankly to God.

My aunt invited me to Pedro's 100x Academy weekend virtual session last year, and they're definitely Word of Faith. 1 - I moderately enjoyed the experience, but near the end they brought this lady on stage to share her testimony. At the end of her story she thanked Jesus for blessing her, but Pedro cut her off and spoke to the crowd, "It was you guys. You all blessed her!" I understood what they both meant, but it was slightly jarring. 2 - They took the word "favor" of God and re-packaged it to mean a whole bunch of super ambiguous positive prosperity phrases and that was a bit strange. 3 - The end of the session is what really opened my eyes. The got the whole crowd hyped up and started throwing bagels into the crowd. Said they were holy and then started "slaying people in the spirit". I've grown in the Pentacostal denomination so I'm super familiar with this stuff, but what I was witnessing seemed to be more emotional manipulation and heavy heavy marketing than a healthy work of God. They pretty much used God has the vehicle to sell their courses and products. Super artificial man 🥴
