Adam Sandler started out as a stand-up comedian. He had a distinctive "style" that I personally thought was funny, but a lot of people didn't get. It obviously served a purpose though as it got him a gig on an MTV game show (ironically called Remote Control), that led to Saturday Night Live, and then to the movies. He seems to be one of those people that are more comfortable performing in front of a camera or an audience than talking one on one in person.

I love all of his eras but someone's now he seems out of his depth, albeit in an extremely charming and verbally persuasive manner. I enjoy watching his journey from being an overpowering junkie as he calls his past self, as much as I enjoy his enlightened living and kind personality now. overall I prefer his current self simply because I have a deep appreciation for him and he seems happy now, or happier anyway and that gratifies me somehow just to know he's in a better place

I still remember an interview with Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore and an Aussie TV host Larry Emdur, just after the Wedding Singer was released. One of the only celebrity interviews that has stuck in my mind cos it was so natural and extremely funny .. that was in the late 1990s before the world turned paranoid and we knew how to laugh at ourselves.... Haha Russell is so hyper in this interview - it must be during his party years .. he's much more serious and conservative these days.

Oh my god, I don't know why I ever bother to read KZbin comment, just miserable people whose opinion is apparently fact. About what? You being a hypocrite? No, not really. I've remained indifferent throughout the process. It's your problem, not mine. People do log in to youtube specifically to vent their frustrations with media, to feel like they have a voice. Your rant wasn't any more well thought out than any of theirs and it does turn on itself the moment you mention spreading misery...and the bit about getting a hobby. And so here we are now. I'm free for some more "back-and-forth" if you'd like that hole deeper. To comment on the video, however: it really was one of the worst interviews I've ever seen.

I think people are being a little too tough on Adam. Sure he makes crappy, simple films and seems kind of dull, regular American guy next to Brand's manic verbosity but at least he seems like genuine and nice guy and can hear him cracking up throughout the interview, so he obviously gets Brand. Adam just has a more introverted, grounded observant type personality compared to Brand during his drug days (but who doesn't)?

One thing RB says in the interview is I can't be held responsible for the inter-workings of my own mind. I believed this for most of my life, but it's not true. You can program your mind and affect your thoughts by controlling what you watch, listen to, read and most importantly say! Your subconscious uses all data that you hear, see, touch, smell and taste to suggest answers instantaneously to your conscience mind about problems you face everyday. But what you say has an even more significant roll because your mind believes everything you say to be pure TRUTH. If you say things out load that are negative or destructive especially about yourself, it will assume it is true. Thoughts and spoken words are powerful and change this world and us every time we speak. Choose your words carefully!
