This is a clip where Russell Crowe Explains that when he saw the Gladiator script it was they stripped it down to 26 pages. Because the original script was so bad. He stated they had said said Gladiators had endorsement deals which was true in those times. But Russell and Ridley was trying figure out how was that relatable to the audience. So he explains what helped him get over his fear was he trusted in Ridley Scott experience. #shorts

The funny thing is in ancient Rome famous gladiators DID have endorsement deals for products like olive oil.

When you hear about the issues that most big tent pole movies have during production, it's amazing that any of them get finished let alone being great. Look up the production issues for James Cameron's "The Abyss". Yikes! (But an excellent movie)

It is pretty amazing. And then people go on to criticize them. Outside of the script issue for this movie, it is amazing that large movies get made at all because they are so complex and have 100s of people working on them. And then to have them be pretty good, we all should be happy.

It makes me wonder how movies get made. Ridley Scott has a ton of game and experience and it seems like on the surface that he had no idea what he was doing. Bad script, unprepared act, strange

Gladiator is a joke. It’s Braveheart..but crappier..and set in Rome. No heart/soul:brains like Braveheart 💯.
