It's of no consequence whatsoever, whether George 'Cowboy Woody from Toy Story' Russell originally hailing from Kings Lynn Norfolk, jumps ship to RedBull, as well as Sir 'LionHeart' Lewis's signed contract with Scuderia Ferrari. It's actually Mercedes AMG's problem and that of part-owner and team principal Toto Wolff. Sir 'Jim' Ratcliffe FlChemE (Chemical giant INEOS £Multi-Billionaire & head honcho of Manchester United FC more or less over the American Glazer brothers) and 3rd co-owner of Mercedes F1 team), is not in a good place right now watching his major sports teams' investments currently going 'belly up'...and Toto's cack-handed over-seering of the previously consistent 8 year long domination of Formula 1 aren't helping. . . Things have not really been up-to-scratch since 3×F1 GP WDC WINNER and airline owning aeronautical entrepreneur, Executive Director of Mercedes AMG, Niki Lauda, passed on 20 May 2019. Actually the rot really begun when Toto bought his way into Mercedes AMG, as Ross Brawn left to become Managing Director of Formula One, after successfully selling his Brawn GP team, winner of 2009 F1 World Championship to Daimler Benz. Ross Brawn MBE, Nikki Lauda, (and now sadly incapacitated) G.O.A.T. Michael Schumacher and Nico 'Britney' Rosberg put in the hard work to prepare Mercedes for 2014 winning ways, with Schumacher's replacement, the McLaren 2008 F1 WDC winner, Hamilton. So, Toto Wolffman had bugger all to do, except smash up 'race watch along head-sets', as his much cliche' gimmick. . . Toto's strongly suspected of orchestrating behind the scenes, the (from Hamilton's perspective) 2016 'debacle', gifting Nico Rosberg the World Championship, which pleased Daimler Benz main board of directors who always wanted a German anyway. . . Only Brawn, Lauda aided bu lifetime international Mercedes Benz ambassador, Sir Stirling Moss; and, tacit recommendation from Schumacher, that Hamilton was preferred over (ideal German in a German team) F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg . . . A true "there but for fortune" scenario . . . and Toto is also allegedly suspected of 'dumb' complicity in the 2021 robbery of Sir 'LionHeart' Lewis'; according to the unprecedented rules changes, which resulted in the AbuDhabi 2021 win being 'handed on a plate' to a grateful, yet nonetheless thoroughly undeserving Max Verstappen; allegedly corruptly but certainly unsportingly, wresting the domination of F1 Grand Prix World Championship wins from a blatantly cheated Sir Lewis and a finally toppled Mercedes, although. . . the team did, however, win the F1 World Constructors Championship and of course the 'corporate sponsorship filthy lucre' that goes with it. . . as, there's only 'prestige' for winning the F1 drivers' world championship. which ultimately is all it's ever been about for Toto. . . The money! So, it is not at all surprising that Toto's presided over the almost complete brain drain of the talented individuals who jumped ship for greener pastures than exist(ed) under Toto's stewardship, obliging him to beg Tech Director Alison's return from other projects . . . George is merely another (disloyal) disheartened and disappointed Mercedes AMG 'team member', checking out the sheep and grass between the major F1 teams' connurbations and the amount of sheep munching that grass. . .

@@Flatlander_ None of this is at all remotely, nor at all realistically on the cards, even in a fairytale future, t ol venture an oxymoron. However, the one aspect of which all and sundry may be certain of; is that George 'Cowboy Woody from Toy Story' Russell will place his own well being first, (including jumping ship from Mercedes AMG to Oracle RedBull Racing, or . . . Audi Sauber. . .) "come hell or high water!" His courage in the face of adversity, has to be admired. Good money may be confidentally wagered on that score. . .

Agree! He 's in every way sold to us as an artificial driver, a fake contender of sorts. Netflix blatantly portraid him as an entire different driver, an ambitious prodigy with the atributes of an Alonso: intelligent, precise in his words, with scenes painting him as astute and winner. Yet, the scene where Totto and he sealing the deal of his contract, they both shake hands at the back of the garage with poor lighting, to appear shadows (of doubt? of a shaddy gamble?), in public, yet hidden from public view, at the very end of the season where no one else is suppose to sign the deal. And this portrait of him is always shown to us so cringely, emphatically, in order to build an image a driver he is not. At the same time putting him in front of camera always well dressed to party together with a hired top model, to act like a successful business man drinking expensive wine, looking at the horizon; never to the camera, never looking at us on camera like the others do when they share their testimonies and experiences of the events. It's a very very stupid PR campaign in the least. The guy has shown little to no achievements of his own yet, his victories are contestable due to cheating (the team deliberately sacrificing SLH's race to benefit their new artificial driver), the man that, as an F1 driver, is an excelent Netflix actor, faking as a multiple WDC winner. 2025 will be interesting for us viewers, we'll get to see if the Mercedes team will implode with their new pair: an inexperienced young driver, full of expectations, yearning for victories from the start, and a yet-to-prove-himself driver, now without the shadow of an 8 times WDC as a reference, they won't have free-to-copy telemetry data and configurations from a trusted source of feedback.

Yes but always a get out clause... ham should have just stayed until 26 then ferrari... but I know that toto screwed ham on the 8th.. just greed for construction.. but they. Had both covered.. but.
