bouncing is an indication that the ground effects are working really well.... Unfortunately the exponential increase in Ground attraction at V1 simply cannot be controlled by stiffening everything up . I won the 1980 Donnington GT championship developing and driving my own designed / constructed Ground effects platform . Useable ground attraction was exponential above 80 mph .AIRSPEED.. I know what i am talking about for speeds up to 128mph . increasing tyre pressures will only make the car undriveable . A bouncy castle DOES NOT BOUNCE until sufficient air pressure has been introduced .. Adding pathetic drag inducing AERO should only be minimal and should ONLY be used for fine tuning of the chassis balance . The first corner taken above 80mph will indicate what is working and what is not . feedback from the driver if competent .is paramount . Bounce is called a stall in aircraft terms .. Fortunately the stall in aircraft behaviour is indicated by a simple aerodynamic gizmo which sounds an alarm . Unfortunately this STALL is exponentially violent with ground effects.. simply put when an aircraft stalls the onset is cushioned due to the unlimited availability of nice airflow entering and softening the stall .The ground / racetrack is not going anywhere . Hence the SO CALLED PORPOISING.. which is simply a series of rapid stalls .occurring infinitely faster than any human reaction can overcome . My approach when faced with mild Porpoising Max speed of my car was under 128mph at Donnington Park racetrack. I MANAGED this STALLING using simple spring loaded adjustable vanes ahead of the Ground Effect venturies which diverted the pressure spikes into the low pressure vacuums at the rear of the car . Bleeding this air Pressure onset was my way of achieving / MANAGING the excellent (by my standards ) Ground Effects achieved .. albeit at quite slow F1 velocities .. PLanes fly much faster .. You will never BEAT Ground effects .. SO take advantage of it Manage it and only use aero to fine tune the car balance to allow the driver to feel confident . Brave / stupid drivers end up in the wall .. ONE NEEDS wheels on the car to go racing . No old BOLD pilots . so on and so forth .. Enjoy ..
