Yeah if Im gonna give one of the two my money, Its gonna be the kid that came up with the idea(NBT). Not a bigger company knocking off his product.

@rpaulbirdКүн бұрын
@@iBackshift As someone that is bringing a product to market, I can't imagine pulling this off in less than year. Until you've done it, you can't imagine how much time it takes to design, redesign, test, redesign, test, and on and on. And not just the display - you've got cabling, mounts, connectors, packaging, documentation, logistics, and on and on. There is a DAUNTING amount of effort involved in this.

Great idea, I’m very glad someone is trying to fill this niche… hopefully it leads to innovation and more competitive pricing. I’ve been looking very hard for a waterproof, high nit, rugged HDMI display. But for my purposes, with Apex units, the price point needs to be about $1200 less to consider it. I can buy an Apex 19 CHO for an extra $700 over this price.

Just like I tell folks that buy an NBT. What's going to happen when Garmin says, "You guys are stealing some of our market share and we are tired of it." then they do a software update that kills the functionality of these products.

What are the limitations on the 1243? Or 8610?
@RussellMarineProductsLLCКүн бұрын
@@kylefaiss9625 the 1243 will shave about a 1/2” border around all the edges of the flex 19 so it doesn’t give a true full screen, the 8610 also does the same thing plus it distorts the image for touch control as well
@kylefaiss9625Күн бұрын
@RussellMarineProductsLLC Do you still get full touch controls with the 1243 and 8610?

there’re probably 50 different companies in Shenzhen that can fabricate you a NBT copy unit in 10 days, with only 1000 bucks, I know it because I’m also working on a similar screen with 2 factories there 😂

This isn't a Chinese screen. There are 1000 of companies that build these style screens, but there is a reason we didn't go that route.
