The Secret Policman Ball is held in London. It's mostly comedy stand up acts for charity (?) (I'm not sure, I'm not from the UK, but I've seen Rowan Atkinson etc do gigs at the SPB before) But he couldn't make it there personally so he's broadcasting from Canada where he's doing another gig. That was the end of his bit that he wanted to show the SPB in London so he said goodbye to them. Hope it makes sense now.
