I was a member of the soberish fellowship… for 22 months. Then I “unwillingly” (as Russell shared) and unwittingly took a nosedive off the high dive one early eve. A night of hell ensued - a drunken driving night of despair that could have killed others and myself but by the Grace of God. And that drunk was something I have never experienced. So horrible! I traumatized people I love. And with more pain and more gratitude than I can convey that dark night of suicidal drunken horror… THAT night from hell was a very very bittersweet gift from God. Because I came out the other side the next morning still drunk and in despair…and full of shame and fear and self loathing… to absolutely and finally KNOW without doubt that I am a REAL Alcoholic who MUST work the program just as Bill and Bob and the first 100 presented it. I want the Fellowship of Spirit, man. I will stay on my knees today and forever so I never experience anything like that night or any other drunken dark nights of my Soul. God bless you Russell and all who are here. May we be humbled and humble ourselves daily and may and all come to know the life that the Promises of AA say we will have. 🌸

Hi Russell. I have seen you online speaking and know that you are a believer. Please pray for my son Ryan who is playing with fire. As a he is young and as you know, the young know everything so caring advice goes in one ear and out the other. Normally I have taken the bull by the horns and not sticking my head in the sand, but it seems he is still dabbling thinking he is fooling me. I am going to try nice and easy approach since my way is not working. I decided I will only pray about it, but would like true believer to pray with me. Please ask your church to pray for Ryan as well. God knows who he is. THANK YOU and keep on keeping on!!God bless!🙏🏻

JH Gandy I don’t think that I did miss it. To clarify: that’s one of the best talks I’ve ever heard. And I will admit to focusing on really the only negative part of it, but that’s because it’s pretty important. He said people have to be miserable for many many years. That’s just not true. It’s a rare bird that comes in and just takes the whole package, lucks out with a really good sponsor, does the steps in order out of the big book, not balking at the amends (neither the living amends nor the direct amends) and gets into service. But I’ve personally seen people do that and be genuinely happy joyous and free in a matter of months not years.
