Here is the Highlight I just got done doing on Russell Shepard. He is considered one of the top players in the class of 2009

this guy is SICK. Saw him today in the Under Armour All-America football game and he tore it up. Lightning fast, can you say Wildcat Offense?

You ever heard of Chris Leak or Pat White? Sheppard is currently listed 2inches taller than both of them, and Shepard is still a Junior. The kid is explosive and has a great arm. I saw him at the NIKE camp in Baton Rouge, and he had a cannon !!Alnog with blazing speed HE IS DEFINETLY PLAYING Q.B. no doubt. Watch out SEC!!!!!!

Lee will probably start till next year,and the next unless he ends up being a bust. Then once russel has learned the system he'll probably be the starter his sophmore year in 2011 which is going to be an amazing thing to watch. LSU is going to have a dynamic option running scheme runned by gary.

I don't have to look it up. I haven't missed an LSU game in 30 years. I saw Mauck win his first game with LSU when he ran 12 times for 2 TD's in beating Tennessee, guess what he attempted 15 passes. Also, Flynn had 100 rushing attempts in his only season as a starter. Those aren't traditional drop back passer stats.

Well count on it there slick..Kevin Newsome committed to Michigan today..So, Russell Will go sign with LSU, I guarantee..If you watch these videos here your watching the next Michael Vick..This kid will be special, runs a 4.33 already..Vick didn't run that unti his RS Freshman season at VA Tech..has a great quickness, good burst, and elusiveness..With the right system and O-Line this kid is going to be fun to watch..

i hope this kid switches to rb.....playing qb like the way he does doesnt work in the NFL....maybe college but if he keeps the ball and runs like that it will take one hit from someone like James Harrison to make him not want to run anymore.....vince young is garbage in the nfl and ask mcnabb if he wants to run anymore.....great football player but he better learn something other than tuck and run.....Pryor is learning that the hard way as well....

That's your quote and that is what I was responding to. That is why it is obvious you have no idea what your talking about. Sure, this kid is an athlete and may play another position in college but you do not have to be a pocket passer to play at LSU. LSU runs the spread.

I agree w/ you 100% But this guy runs so different from VY, and how he played when he was in HS. No doubt is he a runner, but the kind of running he will do there will get him hurt VERY quick in college. He'd better beef up quite a bit, b/c his style of running is asking for some hits.. not to mention he needs to get a bit faster, or he WILL get flagged. The kid has SERIOUS potential! I'm just saying that he needs to shift his style a bit for it to work effectively in college..

He seems amazing.. but I'm REALLY glad he didn't go to Texas. I'd take Gilbert over him any day. Why? Well.. that may work really well in HS, but once he gets to college, his speed will be EASILY outmatched, and the kid is too light. Being able to run in HS and being able to run the ball in college are two CLEARLY different things, and he doesn't seem capable enough to pull it off in college. I'm expecting another LSU disappointment of a QB.. that is, unless he throws a bit more.

Texas would be a good choice. He needs to watch out for LSU fans. They vandalized Joe McKnight's school because he comitted to USC. And they also threatened his coach. Seriously, LSU fans are the worst. I know you play for your team but a person does need to take pride in who they play for. Hopefully, he will take some more trips. This is an awesome opportunity to travel and have some great food. Georgia is also a FANTASTIC choice. They play in the SEC AND have scheduled some tougher opponents.

I'm sure OU is going to offer him, but I doubt they go after him as a QB. Their depth chart when he commits will look like: Sam Bradford Keith Nichol Landry Jones Sam will be a sophomore, Nichol a freshman, and Landry a redshirt. Rossley has coached several big time college players, so he is an attractive guy to have on staff. Shepherd can make some good throws, but he still doesn't pass consistently enough to play right away. Right now he is just a much rawer version of Tyrelle Pryor.

Anyways Russell Shepard hes a pretty good athlete but we got something for him when he plays us the last game of the season (against Langham Creek)

The one who got kicked out of LSU xD. I'll give you a hint.. his name starts w/ the letter "P". Besides, LSU hasn't been known for their QB.. Their killer defense and Hester put them where they are, NOT their quarterback.. I have nothing against LSU, as they deserved to win. Ya, it was an extremely lopsided season for everyone, but great QBs don't lose to unranked teams...

Forcier was a while ago, and Weinke was never even committed (And not even good to begin with)...the only legitimate one is Mallett. Sheridan won't leave because he's terrible and if he goes anywhere else right now he won't have a scholarship. Cone won't go anywhere because he is going to be the #2 QB at the University of Michigan, and you don't leave that.

I know youre just saying it's a rumor but they didn't pull their offer to Pryor. That said, he will not be going to UM. He was announcing he would be going to Ohio State on Signing Day but his father said he wouldn't sign his LOI until he at least honored all the hard work JoePa put in and visited Penn State. Pryor will be a Buckeye.

He just committed to Texas today at Mack Brown's Junior Day. Mack was offering like crazy and Russell even knows Garrett Gilbert committed there but he said he's open to playing other positions if he doesn't get the job. The kid's an athlete. Shepherd grew up a huge UT fan but they just picked up Garrett Gilbert, the #1 QB recruit. Texas offered him as a non-QB recruit so he is looking at other schools. He mentioned A&M being on his short list because he liked the coaches and they are recruiting him as a quarterback.

Furthermore, the funny thing is - Perriloux argueably was the best passer of the bunch - excluding Russell. Just more evidence that you haven't really watched the Tigers and have no clue what your talking about. Keep on hating - and good night!

LSU sure does recruit well out of the Houston area. Hopefully he gets to wear #10 like Joseph Addai did a few years back. I can't wait to see this guy running the spread handing off to Ford and Lipscomb...and tossing it to Randle, Benton and Tolliver.

True, that was my bad. He was expected to commit yesterday. I do now think UM will get him because he said he at least wanted to have a shot at QB but I guess Mack basically said it's not happening.. who knows.. UM would offer him the job

If LSU ends up 8-5 it will be bacause of poor QB play. All the more reason to go to LSU. LSU just played the #1 team in nation to overtime with horrible QB play. Imagine if they had even a decent QB in.

From what it sounds like, there is a great chance Shepard will be a wolverine, especially if we don't get Pryor. Today, he said Michigan is at the top of his list, but Texas is still in the mix.

I think the attribute that stands out most to me is his offensive awareness. R. Shepard does a good job of not only evading tackles but also reading his blocks and keeping his eyes downfield. He doesn't seem afraid to take hits in the pocket either(if he throws). He should be a great college football player.

Michigan's Rich Rodriguez won't give up on Shepard. I hear his LSU committment may not be a very strong one. Michigan failed to land Terrell Pryor but they could shock everyone next February and sign Shepard.

Hatch only has an advantage over lee because of the fact that hes a junior and lee is a Rfreshman, and that hatch is a transfer from harvard. To be honest however lee is probably more talented than hatch... just lacking the experience.
