We just saw a team win a Super Bowl not just the QB. Nothing wrong w/a QB wanting to get paid but since the salary cap started in 1994 Steve Young’s pay accounted for the highest percentage of a SB winning QB at 13.1% until Tom Brady just now pushed it over 14%. After that is Eli Manning in 2011 (11.7%), Peyton Manning in 2006 (10.4%), and Brett Favre in 1996 (10.2%). The average spend on a Super Bowl QB has been just 6.4%. Wilson is an excellent QB but truth doesn’t care about how any of us feels. If the Seahawks were to spend a ton of money & build the best O-line in the the NFL then they wouldn’t need a $35M QB to win. 😀

Longer than it should, because he's only 5'10. That's what's ironic here, the original knock on him coming out of college is coming to fruition, now that he's older and can't get out of the pocket as easily to make short and intermediate throws. When defenses just started playing primary cover two and taking away the deep shots halfway through the year, he looked like a backup quarterback the rest of the season, for this very reason. It's only going to get worse.

Tom Brady never talked about Legacy... and that's why he will have the greatest Legacy of all time. Russell Wilson takes a whole lot of money. And Russell Wilson holds the ball for a very long time. PFF had the Seahawks offensive line rated 8 overall so they were a top 10 offensive line in the NFL but it was Russell Wilson's fault for getting sacked so much because he hold on to the ball too long. He is too short to see over the top of the Defenders so he has to run further back than most quarterbacks
@tmorelli19823 жыл бұрын
That's exactly the reason. When teams started playing primary cover 2 and taking away his downfield shots, he quite literally looked like a backup quarterback the rest of the season, because he can't see over the line for short and intermediate throws, and isn't as elusive/mobile as he was coming into the league. If it wasn't for that no trade clause, I'd be all in on Seattle trading him to a team for the highest draft capital possible. All the teams his agent broached that he'd go to aren't worth it for the return
@aeiplanner3 жыл бұрын
RW is a short man and he doesn't stay in the pocket because he can't see down field. When he's out of the pocket he puts himself at risk but also, the 400 lb linemen who simply cannot shift as nimbly as he does. You'd think that after a decade RW would figure it out.

Something about him forces coaches to make decisions. Not sure what it is. He is super consistent and great at being a QB. But he has no problem living life on his terms. To the point Tom O’Brien had to choose to go with Mike Glennon over him. Dumbest move ever in my opinion, but nevertheless. When he went to Wisconsin they fell in love with him and went away from their smash mouth identity. They got pass happy. You could tell some of the team got frustrated. They wound up going back to more of the run style a little later in the season. Then you have the Super Bowl debacle. Now this. There is a trend here. Not saying it’s on him. That’s my guy. It's not gonna happen. You're not Tom Brady. It's never gonna happen.

Trade Wilson to San Francisco

How did this interview become such a media clicking bin of garbage? I've listened to several of Wilson's interviews since the season and he's never said he wants to be traded. Now it's just the media saying it's a back and forth power struggle betwen Russ and the team to see who gives in first. This whole idea of Wilson being traded is beyond stupid. The guy just wants more say in the operations, if Carroll won't ever budge then get rid of his old booty. I think he's the oldest coach in the league now right? Wilson isn't going anywhere.
